ALLEGRO NEW MEDIA PLAYS CHARTER ROLE IN THE SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL MEETING OF
(SANJ), THE SOFTWARE ASSOCIATION OF NEW JERSEY

Next SANJ Forum Scheduled for June 11

FAIRFIELD, NJ -- MARCH 25, 1996 -- The Software Association of New Jersey
(SANJ) hosted its first meeting in Princeton, NJ, on March 1st, and
Allegro New Media (NASDAQ:ANMI), a national publisher of computer software
for home and business, was featured at the event.

"Our new statewide Association recognizes the need for information sharing
about a host of issues important to the almost 2,000 new and established
software companies dotting the New Jersey business landscape," said Barry
Cinnamon, President and CEO of Allegro New Media, and Vice Chair of SANJ.
"New Jersey is growing quickly as a major national force in software
product development and marketing."

Approximately 200 people attended the first meeting of SANJ which was held
at the Princeton Marriott Hotel in Princeton, NJ. The meeting marked the
introduction of the key speakers, Joseph Allegra, SANJ Chair and President
of Princeton Softech, Senator Robert Singer, Chairman of the High
Technology Task Force of the New Jersey State Legislature, Barry Cinnamon,
Allegro New Media, Mel Baiada, Bluestone, Inc., and William Kennedy, New
Jersey Institute of Technology.

"The state's technology business will be an important part of its growth
and well-being into the next century," added Cinnamon. "The men and women
who create and sell software in New Jersey will be making important
contributions to the financial health and stability of the state. Through
our new association, by helping each other to succeed, we also help our
community as a whole."

The first meeting's agenda provided information to members about the best
ways to start and nurture a software company, to raise money for software
business ventures, and to take advantage of the many business
opportunities on the Internet.

The next SANJ forum will be held on April 2 at the Hyatt in New Brunswick
following the NJ Swift Conference. Price Waterhouse will be presenting
their outlook for the New Jersey software industry based on their recent
Business Practices survey.
