Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe 2.0 for Macintosh And Power Macintosh Announced

Type Utility Now Allows Users to Take Control of Their Font Menus

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, (May 28, 1996)(Nasdaq:ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated
today announced Version 2.0 of Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe for Macintosh and
Power Macintosh, a major upgrade of this popular type utility for
organizing fonts within an application font menu. With the new Deluxe
version, users have the freedom to set and view custom font menus. Users
can also choose to display fonts in their actual faces and change font
names, all from within the font menu. Version 2.0 now allows grouping of
fonts by project, by frequency of usage, and by personal preference.

"The Deluxe version of Adobe Type Reunion is a major step forward for this
product," said Brian Heuckroth, senior product marketing manager for Adobe
Type Products. "Professional designers will really appreciate the ability
to rename multiple master font instances into friendlier and more
memorable titles. Casual users will enjoy the ability to see the font
names displayed in the actual typeface from within their font menus. The
integration with the new Adobe Type Manager Deluxe 4.0 will enable all of
our customers to be more productive."

Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe

Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe installs in the system folder and works with both
TrueType and Type 1 typefaces, including multiple master fonts. The
program reduces the length of a typical font menu by as much as 80 percent
by automatically grouping and displaying all typefaces alphabetically by
family name with submenus that show styles and weights. This makes
typefaces easily accessible and allows users to quickly locate and choose
fonts from shorter, more logical menus.

New Features

Version 2.0 of Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe allows users to create a custom
grouping of fonts in the font menu. For example, users can group all fonts
related to a specific project. The new version also streamlines the
workflow process by placing most recently used fonts at the top of the
font menu. This process allows users to locate a font currently in use
easily and quickly and saves time when a font must be applied repeatedly
throughout a document. For situations that don't require access to all
installed fonts, Adobe Type Runion Deluxe 2.0 also gives users the option
of controlling menu length and which fonts appear in menus.

Users can descriptively rename fonts on menus to keep track of multiple
master instances, fonts from different manufacturers or personal
favorites. Users then have the option to display fonts in their actual
typefaces, making it easy to identify unfamiliar fonts quickly.

Integration with ATM Deluxe 4.0

Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe 2.0 works well with the new Adobe Type Manager
4.0 by allowing users to immediately activate and deactivate sets from the
font menu, or quickly open ATM to view sets and modify ATM setttings.
Users can activate or deactivate Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe for specific
applications.

System Requirements

Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe 2.0 runs as a native application on both Power
Macintosh and 68020 and higher Macintosh computers and compatibles.
Minimum system requirements for Adobe Type Reunion Deluxe 2.0 include a
Macintosh computer with 8 MB RAM or more; System Software version 7.0.1 or
greater; a hard disk with 1 MB of free space; and a high-density disk
