Adobe Systems Forms New Internet Business Division

Company Also Announces Executive Promotions

Mountain View, Calif., (May 14, 1996) (Nasdaq: ADBE) -- Adobe Systems
Incorporated today announced the formation of a new division focused on
the development and marketing of the company's Internet products and
technologies. John Kunze, formerly Vice President of the Graphics and
Publishing Products Group, becomes the Vice President and General Manager
of this new division, and a corporate officer. Kunze, 33 years old, has
been with Adobe for 10 years. Adobe's Internet products and technologies
include Acrobat, PageMill and SiteMill, Persuasion and "Web Presenter," a
new presentation authoring technology for the Internet. Adobe detailed its
Internet strategy and announced new products and technologies for the
Internet at its "Improving Net Expectations" event held in San Francisco
last week.

"For the last few years, we've been developing technologies and products
for making the World Wide Web a more effective and visual communications
medium for our customers," said Charles Geschke, President of Adobe. "Now
that the Internet marketplace is taking off, it makes sense for us to
structure our organization so that we can continue to move quickly and
provide developers and content creators with an integrated suite of
products and technologies that will enable them to take the Internet to
the next level."

Executive Promotions

Adobe also announced the promotion of David B. Pratt to Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer. Pratt, 57 years old, who has been
with Adobe for the last eight years, was most recently a Senior Vice
President and Co-Chief Operating Officer. Fred Schwedner was promoted to
Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Printing and Systems
Division, and was named a corporate officer. Schwedner, 54 years old,
joined Adobe in 1989, and became Vice President of the systems division in
1992. The company also named as corporate officers: John Brandon, Vice
President of North American Sales and Support, and Hachiro Kimura,
