Adobe Systems Demonstrates New Presentation Graphics Technology for the
Internet

Adobe "Web Presenter" Redefines the Landscape of Web-Based Presentations;
Prototype Available for Immediate Download

SAN FRANCISCO (May 7, 1996) (Nasdaq: ADBE)--Adobe Systems Incorporated
today demonstrated new technology for creating and publishing integrated
presentations over the Internet, code-named Adobe "Web Presenter". Shown
for the first time at Adobe's "Improving Net Expectations" event, Adobe
"Web Presenter" is designed to deliver robust Internet authoring
capabilities combined with derivative technology from Adobe Persuasion,
the award-winning presentation graphics application. The prototype and
accompanying documentation for Adobe "Web Presenter" are available
immediately on Adobe's World Wide Web site at http://www.adobe.com.

"New Internet tools like Adobe 'Web Presenter' will simplify the process
and enhance the experience of communicating over the Web," said Mike
Peronto, vice president of publishing products. "By combining ease-of-use
with an intuitive authoring environment, Adobe is providing the means to
develop elegant and highly-integrated presentations for the Internet using
tools and metaphors already familiar to our customers."

Redefining Presentations on the Web

The Internet market today reflects a new perspective of viewing
presentations as a series of navigable, linked pages -- much like a
microcosm of the World Wide Web. Web users and creators alike have grown
accustomed to the metaphor of the Web "site" as a presentation of related
information. This presentation archetype requires innovative tools to
build compelling, integrated pages. Adobe is responding to this need with
"Web Presenter".

Adobe "Web Presenter" is designed to provide a seamless environment for
producing high-quality Web graphics, combined with the exceptional
performance of PDF output for viewing and archiving Internet content. With
Adobe "Web Presenter", users can author and distribute rich presentations
containing Web links, multimedia elements, photos and illustrations over
the Internet. Adobe "Web Presenter" offers high-quality visual
communication capabilities through integration with Adobe's
industry-leading tools. Unlike existing products today, Adobe "Web
Presenter" models the changing landscape of the Internet and is
independent of proprietary standards and ties to specific player
applications.

Web Authoring Features

Adobe "Web Presenter" technology is intended to empower users with the
ability to create high-quality presentation graphics using
industry-leading tools for new media authoring. For Internet integration,
Adobe "Web Presenter" allows users to drag-and-drop World Wide Web links
(URLs) from Netscape Navigator or anywhere on the Web directly into Adobe
"Web Presenter" documents. Adobe "Web Presenter" also supports
drag-and-drop of native files from both Adobe Photoshop, the number-one
Web image authoring application, and Adobe Illustrator, the leading
illustration and page-design tool -- providing robust cross-product
integration. Additional drag-and-drop capabilities for QuickTime movies,
sounds, EPS graphics and TIFF images enables single-step integration of
multimedia elements into Adobe "Web Presenter" presentations.

Adobe Acrobat Integration

Powerful integration with Adobe Acrobat "Amber" allows users to publish
Adobe "Web Presenter" presentations over the Web as PDF files, which are
ideally suited for both Internet and intranet distribution. Adobe "Web
Presenter" leverages the resolution independence of "Amber" to provide
high-quality on-screen fidelity. Additionally, "Amber" will be tightly
integrated with the most popular Web browsers available today, including
Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer , and currently creates
streaming PDF files for progressive downloading of Web text and graphics
to realize major performance gains.

Availability

The Adobe "Web Presenter" prototype is now available for Macintosh , Power
Macintosh, Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. To download Adobe "WebPresenter",
