UNISYS, SEAGATE, AND SUN TEAM TO PROVIDE LEADING EDGE STORAGE MODULE AND
DRIVE TECHNOLOGY

Leading the Market in Advanced Single Connector Technology Standard

MISSION VIEJO, CALIF., APRIL 16, 1996 -- Unisys Corporation's Storage
Systems Division (SSD), Seagate Technology, and Sun Microsystems Computer
Company today announced a new storage solution that addresses the rapidly
expanding needs of the open systems marketplace.

The Unisys OEM implementation of its industry leading Open Storage Module
(OSM) with high reliability and hot plugable drive technology from Seagate
is integrated with Sun's new SPARCstorage Array Model 214 RSM.

Recognizing the needs of leading enterprise server providers, Unisys SSD
developed the OSM. The module offers high reliability with lower cost by
providing enhanced throughput SCSI interfaces, as well as the SCA2 (single
connector attachment, second generation) technology features of hot
plugability, redundant components and fewer cables.

"By working together, Unisys, Seagate and Sun have developed a flexible
package that addresses the rapidly expanding marketplace for high
reliability open storage subsystems," said Roger Klein, Director of
Storage Platforms for Unisys SSD. "The OSM addresses the need of business
critical, high capacity applications involving data warehousing, large
OLTP systems, imaging and voice that are being moved to enterprise
servers."

"To fulfill our vision of the complete I/O strategy for high-end storage,
Seagate has focused on developing new technologies for the server market
such as 'SCA' (single connector attachment), Ultra SCSI and Fibre Channel
Arbitrated Loop", said Gary Gentry, Seagate's senior director of marketing
and planning. "Unisys is sharing this vision by developing versatile
server cabinetry. With industry leaders like Sun, Unisys and Seagate
working together, we can be sure of 'time to market' Ultra SCSI and FC-AL
success in 1996."

"Sun developed the original SCA connector with Seagate to provide the most
reliable, highest density drive mounting for the SPARCstorage Array
product line, which was introduced in 1994,"said A. Edward Turner,
director of marketing for Sun's Storage Products Business Unit. "We are
pleased to be at the forefront of this significant advancement of the SCA
technology."
