high performance notebook computers at a true value, Texas Instruments is
today announcing the new Extensa 510 notebook computer. Sporting an Intel
Pentium processor and a large capacity hard disk drive with aggressive
pricing, even buyers at any level can now afford a high-value Pentium
notebook computer.

"The introduction of the Extensa 510 notebook computer expands mobile
Pentium processor computing beyond the corporate market and into the small
office/home office segment. These users can now afford to utilize the

The new Extensa 510 notebook includes many advanced notebook features such
as a high performance 100MHz Pentium processor, PCI Bus architecture, 8MB
of EDO RAM (expandable to 40MB), 810MB of removable hard drive space
(525MB in Europe), stacked PC Card slots, a brilliant 10.4 inch
Dynamic-STN dual-scan color display, a fast video subsystem supporting 256
colors at 1024 x 760 on an external monitor (640 x 480 on the internal
LCD), and the long lasting Duracell DR35 nickel metal hydride (NiMH)
rechargeable battery.

The Extensa 510 is designed with the Duracell DR35 battery for exemplary
battery life. The DR35 is a standard-size rechargeable battery by Duracell
for use in notebook computers. For computing on the go, Extensa users have
the convenience of readily available replacement or spare batteries from
select retail channels including computer and office product super stores
and traditional computer dealers across the country.

Texas Instruments also includes built-in 16-bit sound, audio in/out,
microphone in and speaker; and two PC Card slots (one Type II and one Type
III) in the Extensa 510. TI is continuing its strategy by providing the
integrated TouchPad pointing device that users find convenient and
effective to use with any application. In addition, the ample palm rest
area and full size Windows 95 keyboard make typing on the Extensa 510 a
very comfortable, trouble-free experience.

Extensa 515 retail version adds the Lotus Organizer, Quicken SE, Microsoft
Works, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Entertainment Pack.
