ENTERPRISE CUSTOMERS TO BENEFIT FROM WORLD-CLASS PRODUCT SUPPORT

LAS VEGAS, Nev., April 2, 1996 -- Stac, Inc. (NASDAQ:STAC) today announced
new product support offerings that provide efficient, cost-effective,
world-class service and support. The enhanced service offerings allow
users of Stac's storage and communications products greater flexibility of
choice when selecting the services that best meets their enterprise
needs.

Stac offers its customers multiple service product options, each
complementing their specific service requirements. Customers have the
option to choose from a variety of packages including StartUp Service,
which provides service during the initial installation phase and is
included with the purchase of any Stac software product; OnDemand Service,
which provides support on a "pay-as-you-go" basis and includes both
per-minute and per-incident options; or Premier Service, which provides an
annual unlimited option geared towards larger enterprise customers. The
Premier Service program provides the highest level of service and support
for Stac's enterprise customers, including priority 800 number access,
extended service hours, and the option to add both 24 hour, 7 day a week
priority response, and a named Stac service account representative.
