Collage 2.0.2 Updater Released

Specular to Release "Version 3.2" Update for Infini-D; Latest Version
Provides End-User "Wish List" Improvements

Amherst, MA -- 27 March, 1996-- Specular announced plans today to release
an interim update to its award-winning modeling, rendering, and animation
package, Infini-D. The update, to be released April 12, 1996, has been
engineered in response to a series of polls taken of Specular customers,
and incorporates the most requested improvements and additions in a number
of key areas. Most significantly, Infini-D's version 3.2 will sport a new
Navigation Palette, facilitating easier camera manipulation, and a number
of improvements to Infini-D's spline-based modeling workshop.

"We are consistently tracking end-user feedback, and monitoring the
Specular AOL discussion groups to determine the needs of our customers,"
said Chris Johnston, Director of Product Management. "In this interim
upgrade we have tried to respond to some of the most frequently requested
features, and to provide them in the shortest possible time."

Among the New Features:

Navigation Palette: In addition to the existing tools and key
commands, users can now manipulate cameras by means of a floating
 palette.

QuickDraw 3D WireFrame Mode: Users can now choose this option
 as a memory-saving alternative to full-shaded QuickDraw 3D-mode
when working with objects in the World.

Expanded QuickDraw 3D Capabilities: Infini-D now has interactive
updating of camera and light manipulations. Users are now able
to work with real-time cameras and lights in QuickDraw 3D mode.

Smoother Morphing: Version 3.2 will introduce a "Reverse Object"
command in the modeling workshop that will increase control over
morphing options, allowing the user to manipulate the path direction
 of objects.

Enhanced Cross-Section controls: Users can number and connect
separate shapes in a cross-section to specific shapes in another
cross-section. This feature has been added specifically to help
ease the modeling process of objects that contain multiple shapes
in a single cross-section, such as forks, for example.

Other additions to Workshop controls: Infini-D 3.2 provides easier-
to-use tools for the Flip command, as well as for adding points
 to existing curves.

Infini-D version 3.2 also addresses some minor bugs and key localization
issues specifically requested by Specular's fast-growing international
markets. For more specific information, please see the Specular Website:
http://www.specular.com.

Availability: The update will be free to all registered users of version
3.0 or 3.1, and will be available in the form of a downloadable "patcher"
from the Specular Website: http://www.specular.com. Version 3.2 will also
be incorporated into all shipping versions of Infini- D. Pricing will
remain unchanged.

Pricing:

The retail price for Infini-D 3.2 is $899.00.
Infini-D 3.2 is free to all registered users of Infini-D 3.0 or 3.1.
Upgrades to Infini-D 3.2 from any version prior to 3.0 are $179.

The previous upgrade for Infini-D, version 3.1, released in December, 1995,
incorporated extended support for QuickDrawTM 3D and QuickTime VR.

Infini-D 3.0, released in August, 1995, has already won numerous awards for
its interface design, ease-of-use and price/performance ratio. Infini-D is
the recipient of the MacUser Editor's Choice Award, the Macworld World
Class Award, and the NewMedia "Hyper" Award.

Minimum System Requirements:

 FOR INFINI-D 3.2: A 68020 or better processor, System 7.0 or later,
 8 MB of available RAM.

FOR QUICKDRAW 3D: A PowerPC processor, System 7.1.2 or later, 16MB
 of RAM.

NOTE: Infini-D 3.1 does not require QuickDraw 3D, so non-Power Mac
 users can still use Infini-D.
