SolidWorks Named "Product of the Show" at the 44th Annual National Design
Engineering Show

Expert Panel Embraces Production Solid Modeling as New and Innovative

CHICAGO, IL - MARCH 19, 1996 - - SolidWorks 95, the first production
modeling mechanical design software for Windows, was named Product of the
Show by a panel of industry experts at the National Design Engineering
Show being held in Chicago this week. The show attracts 30,000 design
engineers and managers cutting across 23 major industries. Companies
eligible for the award participated in the New Product Showcase, sponsored
by the show.

According to Jon Hirschtick, founder and CEO of SolidWorks, "The momentum
continues. The team at SolidWorks is thrilled to be presented this award
over so many diverse and strong products on the floor; but also because it
reinforces our view that Windows-based production level solid modeling is
the future for design engineers." Since being introduced to the market in
November, SolidWorks has received four major industry awards.

THE NEW PRODUCT SHOWCASE

The New Product Showcase is a distinguished, juried event that brings
together the newest and most innovative industrial products in North
America. These products were reviewed by three noted technology editors
who evaluated each product for innovation as relating to the design
process, ease of use and pricing structure. The panel of judges included
David Bak, senior regional technical editor from Design News; Matthew
McManus, staff editor, Machine Design; and Bill Leventon, technical editor
for Product Design & Development.

"Manufacturers need to make continuous improvements and innovations in
their manufacturing process to stay ahead of their competition. This
year's show illustrates this tremendous determination and commitment by
North America's leading manufacturers. SolidWorks was recognized for
bringing their new, innovative process to the design floor," said Diane
Ferber, industry vice president for Reed Exhibition Companies, organizers
of the event.
