14th Annual Interactive Conference & Expo Doubles Expo Floor

MEDFORD, MA (APRIL 10, 1996)--SOFTBANK Institute announced today that more
than 200 booths have been booked for the Interactive '96 Conference & Expo
which will be held May 12-15, 1996 at the Georgia World Congress Center in
Atlanta. This year's Expo Hall is twice the size of the Interactive '95
Expo Hall and is one of the reasons why the Georgia World Congress Center
was chosen as a site. Companies representing products and services used in
interactive training will be exhibiting at the Interactive '96 Expo.
SOFTBANK Institute, the conference and expo organizer, is predicting that
the show attendance will grow by more than 30% in 1996.

"The reason for the explosive growth at this year's expo is three-fold,"
according to Kerry Brady, SOFTBANK Institute Expo Sales Executive. "First,
the growth in the use of interactive technology in training is resulting
in an increasing number of vendors focusing on the training market.
Second, this is the world's largest forum for buyers of interactive
products and services used in training, and vendors want to be sure to be
visible to their market. And third, the conference program has been
carefully crafted to attract a high-quality buying audience. The Expo
attendees will come to our conference to be educated in the cutting-edge
as well as the practical uses of interactive technology in training, they
will then shop as qualified buyers in the Expo Hall for a variety of
products and services."

The Interactive '96 Conference and Expo will be the world's largest forum
focused expressly on the application of interactive multimedia
technologies in training and performance. More than 3000 training
professionals, interactive multimedia developers and designers, IS
professionals, instructional designers, computer-based training and
interactive video authors, and online documentation specialists from
across the country will gather at the Georgia World Congress Center to
learn how interactive technology can be used in training to enhance the
performance of organizations.

"Organizations, large and small, are dealing with a variety of pressures
which can be alleviated by using interactive technologies to develop and
deliver training," said Cinda Daly, SOFTBANK Institute Program Director
for Interactive '96." Training directors are pressured to provide greater
efficiency and productivity from employees at all levels, to accommodate
the same training needs with fewer financial and human resources, and to
measure learning and evaluate results, to name just a few. At Interactive
'96, training directors, staff and curriculum developers will come
together to share ideas and strategies for coping with these and other
pressures."

This year's conference offers more than 120 solution-based educational
sessions on such topics as Using Web Technology, Design Methodologies,
Management Perspectives, Techniques for Experienced Multimedia Developers,
The Classroom and Multimedia Convergence, Distance Learning, Tackling the
First Multimedia Training Project, Supporting Performance: Systems,
Processes and Tools; Performance Support Application Design, and Online
Documentation and Help. Industry leaders will provide the opening and
closing keynote speeches. On Monday, May 13, Michael Vance, Chairman and
Founder of the Creative Thinking Association of America and former Dean of
Disney University, will challenge attendees with his speech Think Out of
the Box: A Formula for Success. Business communication expert William
Horton will provide the closing address, Future.media@interactive.96.

In addition to a comprehensive conference, Interactive '96 will offer the
largest expo of its kind in the training industry. Top interactive
vendors, including companies such as Asymetrix Corporation, AT&T Tridom,
and Global Knowledge Network, will display their products and services.
Product announcements by exhibiting vendors targeting the interactive
training marketplace are expected as well. In addition, a Best of Show
Awards program will be introduced, where attendees will have an
opportunity to vote on the best application of an interactive technology
in training, performance support or online documentation.
