Progressive Networks Launches RealAudio 2.0 Intranet Offerings with
Corporate Licensing Program and Intranet Server Pricing

RealAudio 2.0 Ships with RealAudio Firewall Proxy Kit

LAS VEGAS, April 2, 1996 -- Progressive Networks (PN) today announced
RealAudio 2.0 Intranet offerings including a corporate licensing program
and pricing for Intranet customers. The company also announced the
availability of a RealAudio Firewall Proxy Kit, which allows firewall and
system administrators to build custom firewall solutions to support
RealAudio. Separately, Progressive Networks announced the final release of
RealAudio 2.0 and the availability of RealAudio through system integrators
and a number of resellers. The company made these announcements today at
Interop Dotcom, being held here through Thursday, April 4th, at the Las
Vegas Hilton Convention Center in booth #312.

"The Intranet is a phenomenal way to communicate within an organization,"
said Rob Glaser, CEO and chairman of Progressive Networks. "Using
RealAudio to enhance that communication makes it much more compelling and
comprehensive than presentations that are text- and graphics-based only.
Our Intranet program will enable corporations to easily provide RealAudio
to all of their employees."

"We use RealAudio to provide technical training to our employees," said
David Metcalf, lead multimedia developer at the Kennedy Space Center.
"After producing the video we realized that we could reach a larger
audience around the clock by producing a companion Web site. Leveraging
the existing content and look of the video helped tie the two delivery
media together and significantly reduced the development time for the
Web-based training."

"AT&T Network Wireless (Lucent Technologies) uses RealAudio to let
employees hear speeches given by their executives and industry speakers,"
said Bob Yurkovic, manager, Information Solutions Group, Lucent
Technologies. "AT&T previously relied upon distributing cassette tapes of
industry speakers but found that providing them in RealAudio on their
internal Web site was cost effective and centralized the management of the
information."

REALAUDIO INTRANET OFFERINGS

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The RealAudio Server 2.0 for corporate Intranets is available for $495.00
for the five stream/10 seat RealAudio Entry Server, $1895.00 for the 50
stream/50 seat RealAudio Standard Server and $3995.00 for the RealAudio
Unlimited Server with 100 seats. The number of simultaneous streams simply
measures the maximum number of end users who can listen to RealAudio
simultaneously from a particular RealAudio Server.

RealAudio Player 2.0 for corporate licenses starts at $25.00 per seat for
10 seats with volume pricing for larger enterprises. Order forms are
available through the RealAudio Web site.

RealAudio can be used in corporate Intranets in the following ways:

* CORPORATE BROADCASTS -- RealAudio's live and audio-on-demand features
allow corporations to make live announcements and facilitate speedy
communication. Some companies use RealAudio for special events while
others make daily announcements in the morning.

* TRAINING AND PRESENTATIONS -- RealAudio's synchronized multimedia feature
provides the audio and visual materials needed to comprehensively train
people remotely. It allows content providers to deliver presentations
throughout a company over the Intranet by embedding URLs into the audio
stream. This allows graphics and text to appear while the narrator
explains the information.

* CORPORATE WEB TOURS -- RealAudio's integration with URL events gives
corporate Web site users a tour of services available on the Intranet.
RealAudio lets company spokespersons narrate while touring Web pages that
contain corporate information such as phone lists, company events,
procurement procedures, travel policies and daily announcements.

PROGRESSIVE NETWORKS' REALAUDIO FIREWALL PROXY KIT

Progressive Networks' RealAudio Firewall Proxy Kit allows firewall and
system administrators to build custom firewall solutions to support
RealAudio. The public proxy is targeted at organizations using either
proprietary or public domain firewalls to protect their networks. In
addition the RealAudio 2.0 System supports a new TCP-only data option
which will allow a large number of corporate customers to access RealAudio
without any firewall modifications. Today's announcement compliments
efforts underway by leading commercial firewall manufacturers to support
the RealAudio protocol with their products. The RealAudio Firewall Proxy
Kit includes specifications and reference source code that can be used to
build either a transparent or application-level firewall proxy.
Organizations interested in building a RealAudio proxy for use on their
firewall can obtain copies of the RealAudio Firewall Proxy Kit from
Progressive Networks' Web site located at http://www.realaudio.com.

Progressive Networks has teamed up with the leading commercial firewall
manufacturers to have RealAudio supported in future versions of their
firewall products, including Checkpoint Software Technologies, Inc.,
Border Network Technologies Inc., Trusted Information Systems, ANS,
Morning Star Technologies, Global Technology Associates, Milkyway Networks
Corp., Technologic, Inc., enterWorks.com (the network products subsidiary
of Telos Company) and Cypress Consulting, Inc.

ABOUT THE REALAUDIO SYSTEM

Progressive Networks' RealAudio client-server software system enables
Internet and online users equipped with conventional multimedia personal
computers and voice-grade telephone lines to browse, select and play back
audio or audio-based multimedia content on demand, in real time. This is a
real breakthrough compared to typical download times encountered with
delivery of audio over conventional online methods in which audio is
downloaded at a rate that is five times longer than the actual program;
the listener must wait 25 minutes before listening to just five minutes of
audio. Since its introduction last April, over four million RealAudio
Players have been distributed with over 25,000 being downloaded from the
RealAudio Web site daily. Thousands of RealAudio Servers are currently
delivering audio and streaming multimedia content on the Web. The
RealAudio Personal Servers will also be shipped with future versions of
Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

The RealAudio System consists of the RealAudio Player, a client-based
software enabling Internet/online users to access existing audio for
instant playback, and the RealAudio Server, which enables major media
content providers to distribute audio or audio-based multimedia streams
over the Internet to a broad base of consumers and end users. A RealAudio
Encoder allows individuals to encode their audio programming for nearly
any analog or digital source.
