PC DOCS, INC. AND DIGITAL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION ANNOUNCE FINDINGS FROM
COMPREHENSIVE BENCHMARKING TESTS

Tests validate performance and scalability of DOCS Open on the Digital
AlphaServer platform

AIIM Show Booth #543, Chicago, IL - April 1, 1996 - PC DOCS, Inc., a
worldwide leader in enterprise document management solutions, and a
subsidiary of PC DOCS Group International (NASDAQ: DOCSF, TSE: DXX), today
announced the impressive results of a series of benchmarking, stress, and
load balancing tests conducted in conjunction with Digital Equipment
Corp.

Last month, the two companies conducted a series of massive application
characterizations comparing the Alpha and Intel servers running NT 3.51
and using Microsoft SQL 6.0 to establish the relative performance of the
servers, and most importantly, the scalability and performance of DOCS
Open running on each of the servers.

DOCS Open was found to scale from 200 concurrent users to 1800 concurrent
users with minimal performance degradation. With 1800 concurrent DOCS Open
SQL transactions continually hitting the database, the quad processor
AlphaServer utilization was only 40%. SQL vendors usually recommend that
to utilize the most server power, while keeping in mind peak loads, server
utilization should be at approximately 75%. In a real world situation,
this could translate to approximately 3000 DOCS Open users on one
AlphaServer with little or no performance degradation.

"Relational database vendors use the Transaction Processing Council's (TPC)
standardized benchmarking methodology to rank and compare their products'
performance. No such methodology currently exists in the document
management arena," stated Larry Bohn, Executive Vice President and General
Manager at PC DOCS. "Our goal with Digital is to take the lead in
establishing a standardized benchmarking methodology for document
management. This will give customers a stronger foundation for evaluating
document management software products and better support in choosing their
hardware and networking platforms."

"We are thrilled, although not surprised, by the scalability demonstrated
in these tests," said Edmund Muth, Director of Planning and Product
Management for Windows NT at Digital. "As PC DOCS is a recognized leader
in the field of enterprise document management, and Digital's Intel-based
and Alpha-based servers deliver the solutions needed to support the vast
mass storage subsystems required for enterprise document management, these
benchmarks are a tangible example of a powerful and comprehensive
technology coupling."
