PC DOCS ANNOUNCES DOCS INTERCHANGE FOR MICROSOFT EXCHANGE SERVER

Combines Sophisticated Corporate Messaging and Document Management
Capabilities

Las Vegas, NV - April 2, 1996 - PC DOCS, Inc., the leader in enterprise
document management solutions, and a subsidiary of PC DOCS Group
International (NASDAQ: DOCSF, TSE: DXX), today announced DOCS Interchange
for Exchange, software which allows full compatibility between Microsoft
Exchange Server and PC DOCS's DOCS Open. DOCS Interchange for Exchange
combines the powerful electronic publishing and collaboration capabilities
of Microsoft Exchange Server throughout the enterprise and beyond with
DOCS Open's sophisticated document control, security and retrieval
capabilities.

"We have worked closely with companies including PC DOCS to ensure that
best-of-breed products like DOCS Open are tightly integrated with
Microsoft Exchange Server," said Rob Shurtleff, general manager, Microsoft
Exchange Server Connectivity at Microsoft. "While we have incorporated
messaging, scheduling and information-sharing features in a single,
unified product architecture, DOCS Open, through Interchange for Exchange,
will provide the fast, secure, seamless access to documents that users are
demanding to help them manage their business-critical information through
their networks or over the Internet."

Larry Bohn, General Manager and Executive Vice President of PC DOCS, Inc.
said, "Many of our current and potential customers have told us they plan
to adopt Microsoft Exchange Server as their enterprise standard messaging
platform. Microsoft clearly understands a user's need to access, organize
and exchange information from anywhere, in the office, at home or on the
road. Combining the powerful functionality of Microsoft Exchange Server
with DOCS Open's sophisticated security, control and retrieval
capabilities will make it a perfect marriage for corporate users."

DOCS Interchange for Exchange allows easy exchange of documents between
DOCS Open and Microsoft Exchange Server across the entire enterprise and
beyond, including field representatives, suppliers and clients. DOCS Open
users can copy document content and profiles, stored in a DOCS Open
Library, to specified folders in Microsoft Exchange Server for use by
individuals with authorized access. The replication feature of Microsoft
Exchange Server also enables DOCS Interchange for Exchange to
electronically distribute documents throughout the enterprise via
corporate networks or over the Internet.

To ensure control over document distribution, PC DOCS developed the DOCS
Interchange Agent, a core component of DOCS Interchange for Exchange. The
Agent polls DOCS Open libraries for new or updated documents which meet
criteria specified by the specific user of Microsoft Exchange Server.
Query Subscriptions are set up to define the types of documents and the
designated Microsoft Exchange folders to which they should be published.

A replication hierarchy for the folder for distribution to other designated
users is set up on the Microsoft Exchange Server. All of the attributes of
the DOCS Open documents - including the rich text, the binary version of
the source document, a link to the original document resident in DOCS Open
and all the profile attributes - are replicated to Microsoft
Exchange-based documents, allowing an organization optimum flexibility in
distributing the information.

Discussion threads can also be created from the Microsoft Exchange-based
documents. Discussions can be monitored and DOCS Open documents can easily
be modified by conveniently accessing them from the Microsoft Exchange
folder. The DOCS Interchange Agent then automatically republishes the
updated document in the Microsoft Exchange folder.

DOCS Interchange for Exchange will be available as part of the new release
of DOCS Open scheduled for May of this year.
