OSBORNE ANNOUNCES THE BUSY PEOPLE BUSIEST DAY CONTEST

BERKELEY, CA, APRIL 1, 1996-Osborne McGraw-Hill, in a salute to busy people
everywhere, today announces the launch of a fun and humorous new
competition: THE BUSY PEOPLE BUSIEST DAY CONTEST. By encouraging
stressed-out contestants to share stories of their most action-packed days
with Osborne's Web audience, the publisher hopes to underscore the theme
behind its best-selling BUSY PEOPLE book series, namely that it's a
fast-paced world, and with each new technological innovation designed to
save time, people are more rushed than ever before. While the BUSY PEOPLE
books help users learn new computer skills as quickly and efficiently as
possible, the contest will provide some comic relief (and prizes) and
reassure stressed-out professionals that they are not alone-others share
their fate.

Offering valuable prizes such as a limited edition Busy People T- shirt or
any two books listed on Osborne's Website, the contest's rules are simple:
contestants will write a brief account of their busiest day (preferably
humorous) and submit it to Osborne via email: abenamer@mcgraw-hill.com or
fax: 510-549-6603.

Winning Busy People Busiest Day stories will be posted on the
Osborne/McGraw- Hill Website at http://www.osborne.com. Osborne is
accepting entries beginning today, and will announce the first winner
April 15, 1996. Subsequently, one winner will be chosen every Monday
through May 20, 1996-for a total of six winners.

According to Scott Rogers, executive editor of Osborne/McGraw-Hill,
"Hectic, stressed-out lifestyles have become the norm rather than the
exception, and this contest is Osborne's invitation to slow down a little
and have some fun. Plus, we liked the idea of conducting a contest on our
Website, as a way of supporting a medium that can help us get things done
faster-or can help us relax and goof off."
