O'REILLY & ASSOCIATES ANNOUNCES UPCOMING RELEASE OF POLYFORM

Web Forms Construction Kit Helps Users Build and Manage Interactive Web
Pages

Sebastopol, CA, April 12, 1996--O'Reilly & Associates, publisher of the
award-winning web server WebSite, has announced the May release of
PolyForm, a web forms construction kit. PolyForm allows webmasters to
build and manage interactive web pages with forms that collect, process,
and respond to each user's specific input. PolyForm's interactive forms
let visitors react to what is published on a web site with their own
feedback or information requests. It can be used on both the Internet and
the Intranet.

PolyForm's graphical interface is designed to give web managers the ability
to develop and maintain inviting web forms quickly. PolyForm's Script
Wizard and form templates allow beginners to have effective forms up and
running in minutes. Advanced users can concentrate on more elaborate form
design while PolyForm automatically performs all the associated CGI
processing.

PolyForm runs on any Win-CGI 1.1-compliant server, such as WebSite. It also
runs on servers which support Microsoft's ISAPI server. PolyForm has a
suggested list price of $249.

PolyForm features simple and intuitive installation, a built-in SMTP mailer
for sending mail, tamper-proof forms with no additional programming
needed, and a 140-page book complete with detailed examples, tips and
techniques.

PolyForm's primary benefits include:

* attract and retain visitors to the user's site--the site becomes
  more interactive;
* save hours of time: no CGI programming required for forms that once
required it. PolyForm automatically handles the necessary CGI
programming, enabling even beginning users to design forms in under
  five minutes;
* request any kind of information from site visitors, and then easily
  import it into a database.

"PolyForm takes web site development to another level," says Kimberly
Simoni, PolyForm product manager. "One of the most compelling questions
these days is, 'How can I make my Web site profitable?' Gathering and
using meaningful information collected from your Web site visitors is one
viable answer. PolyForm lets you ask the questions you need answered.
Responding to your users and managing form data is a breeze!"

With PolyForm, site visitors can answer surveys, order products, provide
feedback, request information, and sign guest books--the ways site
developers are using PolyForm are as diverse as their sites. The MetroDade
Police department uses PolyForm to collect anonymous crime tips from site
visitors. CompuGraph International uses the program to allow people to
enroll in the 1st Annual International Corel User's Web Page Contest. The
Spa, an Internet service provider and web developer in South Hadley,
Massachusetts, uses PolyForm on the official web site for TeenAge Mutant
Ninja Turtles.

PolyForm will be available by mid-May in software stores nationwide. The
official release date is May 7, 1996. O'Reilly & Associates will preview
the program at Internet World in San Jose, California, from April 30-May
2. More information about the product is available at O'Reilly Software
Online (http://polyform.ora.com/).

UPCOMING RELEASES: TWO NEW PRODUCTS

O'Reilly will release two new programs, a mail server and a statistics
package, in Q3, '96. The products, as yet unnamed, will work initially on
the Windows NT and 95 platforms, and the statistics program will extend
O'Reilly's software into cross-platform development. O'Reilly software
includes these two products, WebSite Professional (to be released Q2,
'96), and the currently shipping products, WebSite 1.1 and WebBoard, a web
conferencing tool. O'Reilly's software product family provides web
developers with powerful tools to create inter- active, compelling sites
easily, efficiently and cost-effectively.
