ATS and NuIQ ANNOUNCE RELEASE OF SOFTWARE TO PROCESS CHECKS ON THE
INTERNET

Will bring check-based Electronic Commerce to next-generation Internet
servers

Los Angeles, CA -- March, 1996 -- Automated Transaction Services, Inc., a
leading provider of Electronic Commerce (EC) solutions, has teamed up with
NuIQ Software, Inc., a leading bulletin board software developer, to
release the first check processing module for Windows Interface Protocol
(WIP) based online/Internet servers.

WIP is a graphical protocol which allows for the transmission of programs,
24-bit color graphics, fonts, and stereo sound over the Internet and
dial-up connections in a client/server interface similar to America
Online(R). Software that currently supports the WIP protocol include the
MindWire Internet Applications Server (by Durand Communications Network,
Inc.) and Powerboard BBS (by NuIQ Software, Inc.). eSoft, Inc., developers
of TBBS and IPAD (Internet Protocol Adapter) have stated that they will
release a WIP compatable version of their BBS platform soon.

The module follows a standard for Electronic Commerce (EC) created by ATS.
ATS's Online Electronic Banking standard already allows operators of
online systems to accept check payment on several bulletin board platforms
and over the World Wide Web. "This new module for the WIP protocol will
allow for online transactions using a new Internet/dial-up protocol that
many system operators find easier to use than HTML," said NuIQ President
and CEO Scott Brown. "WIP screens can be created using a simple drawing
program, whereas HTML screens must be 'programmed'," he continued.

In short, the OEB module allows users to pay for products and services with
checks, online. Instead of having to send a check to the company offering
the product or service, the user 'fills out' a check online. The module
features a Windows graphical user interface (GUI) that actually looks like
a regular check. After information such as check number and bank account
number are entered and verified, the user's name is graphically signed on
the check in cursive writing, as is the amount the check is written for.

Windows Interface Protocol menus are created using an easy-to-use drawing
program called the WIP Builder. Implementing the OEB module on a WIP
compatable host program (such as MindWire or Powerboard BBS) is as simple
as associating an icon or button on a WIP screen, such as a screen from an
on-line shopping mall, to the program. The OEB module can be used in
services such as online graphical databases, shopping malls, subscription
services, and more. "For entreprenuers looking for a technology on which
to base online business," said ATS VP of Operations David Goldfarb, "the
addition of ATS's transaction processing solution may make the selection
of a BBS system a robust alternative to a Web server," he continued.

Users can access online services which use the WIP protocol using a
WIP-compatable client. WIP clients can be acquired from the Durand
Communications FTP server at ftp.durand.com. "Internet users used to
browsing the world wide web can access WIP-based services just as easily
and inexpensively with WIP clients," said Brown.

The OEB module is available for free for a limited time from NuIQ Software
and Automated Transaction Services. "This is the first time that we have
made an Online Electronic Banking module available for free. We are
confident that this software will be popular enough to make up for any
profits we would have made by charging for the software," said William
Parodi, President of ATS. NuIQ and ATS guarantee that the product will be
available at no cost to online service operators (Sysops) for three months
from today, the date of the software's release.

Online service operators (SysOps) interested in the module should contact
NuIQ at 1-800-844-6526 or ATS at 1-800-435-6981.
