NETSCAPE UNVEILS NETSCAPE DESTINATIONS, OFFERING EASY ACCESS TO EXCITING
NEW CONTENT ON THE INTERNET

CONTENT LEADERS INCLUDING CNN, MERRILL LYNCH AND THE WALL ST. JOURNAL WORK
WITH NETSCAPE TO CREATE NEW CONTENT ON THE INTERNET

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (April 24, 1996) -- Netscape Communications
Corporation (NASDAQ:NSCP) today unveiled Netscape Destinations, a new
information site that is part of the Netscape Web site and features some
of the leading general, business, and financial news and services on the
Web. Available to the millions of users who visit the Netscape site daily,
Netscape Destinations enables people to find a cross-section of useful
information and services quickly and easily through a central source.
Netscape Destinations also showcases innovative uses of Netscape
technology by Netscape customers.

This new site is aimed in particular at business users who want and
appreciate quick and easy access to late-breaking news, business and
financial information and related services. Visitors to Netscape
Destinations have access to information sources grouped under eight
categories: general news, finance, technology news, hardware and software,
sports, travel, entertainment and marketplace. To help people locate
useful information, Netscape Destinations also links to Netscape's Net
Search page, Netscape's What's New and What's Cool pages, and Netscape's
People page, which displays a variety of White and Yellow Pages services
to help users locate people and organizations on the Internet.

"Netscape Destinations groups some of the best information and resources on
the Internet together at a single location," said Mike Homer, senior vice
president of marketing for Netscape. "The Netscape site, with up to 60
million hits a day, provides an ideal venue for showcasing new ways of
guiding people to the information they need and want. We expect people
will visit the site daily to check for news and business information."

As the Web grows in popularity, users are demanding easier ways to get the
latest news, stock market data and popular services. Netscape Destinations
responds to this need while showcasing some of the most interesting and
useful sites on the Internet. To display this showcase, Netscape created
site samplers, or interactive index cards, that can be rotated onscreen
and give viewers a colorful interface and hyperlinks to content on a
particular site. Each theme area currently offers up to five
interchangeable cards as well as an alphabetical list of other sites
hosting related information.

Companies currently working with Netscape and whose sites are featured in
the new site sampler fashion include AT&T, Bank of America, Cisco Systems,
CMP, CNN Interactive, Disney Online, GALT Technologies, Hearst New Media &
Technology, IDG, Individual, Internet Shopping Network, JC Penney, Mercury
Center, Merrill Lynch, Schwab Online, Silicon Graphics, Sony Music,
Sportsline, The Wall Street Journal, Travelocity, Yahoo! and Ziff-Davis.

To check financial news, access financial services or monitor stock prices,
for instance, people currently have a choice of site samplers from Bank of
America, CNNfn, Merrill Lynch, NETworth and SchwabOnline. With the
information on these sites available through a simple point and click
interface, people can easily find stock quotes, consult recent economic
indicators and monitor their portfolio as well as access a broad range of
information and opinions from leading economic and financial experts.

For the late-breaking general news, people can now choose from site
samplers offered by CNN Interactive, AT&T's Lead Story, Mercury Center,
Individual's NewsPage and Money & Investing Update from the Wall Street
Journal. In addition to reading breaking news stories people can watch
video clips and listen to audio recordings, all of which underscore the
multimedia experience of using the Web.

People interested in tracking new technology developments can consult
product and technology information from a wide range of industry
publications and product review services including Communications Week,
Computerworld, Information Week, Infoworld, Inter@ctive Week, PC Week, and
PC World, among others.

"What we are unveiling today is just the preview," continued Homer. "As
Netscape further develops the technologies it offers for building and
viewing sites, and as the number of participants in the Netscape
Destinations area grows, we believe the value of this area will increase
dramatically. Business users often do not have the time to surf the Web
looking for a cross-section of information. Netscape Destinations offers
these users a quick and easy way to find the information and services they
want."

Future plans call for additional links to new content and additional
information categories. Netscape Destinations can be accessed directly
from the Netscape home page (http://www.netscape.com).
