MetaTools To Bring Final Effects for Adobe After Effects to Windows NT/95
Platform

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, APRIL 15, 1996 (NAB)--MetaTools, Inc., (NASDAQ: MTLS)
today announced that it is developing its award-winning Final Effects 3,
for the Windows NT/95 operating system on Intel architecture. Final
Effects will be a set of powerful video and animation special effects
extensions that plug into Adober After Effects for Windows NT/95, which is
also being announced today by Adobe Systems Incorporated. Final Effects
will offer video and film producers, animators, CD-ROM and game
developers, and training and interactive tutorial and kiosk creators
sophisticated, workstation-quality video special effects on their personal
computers.

"We are committed to bringing our award-winning digital video technology to
the Windows NT/95 platform," said John Wilczak, founder and CEO for
MetaTools. "With the release of Final Effects for Adobe Premiere for
Windows NT/95 first, then the release of Final Effects for After Effects,
any customer wanting to create awesome digital video and animation special
effects will have a full suite of compelling tools available."

"We are extremely pleased that MetaTools is bringing its Final Effects
technology to the Windows NT/95 platform," said Keith Zentner, After
Effects product manager for Adobe After Effects. "Final Effects will let
users create amazing particle effects right inside After Effects. These
plug-ins will be an incredible addition to After Effects that our users
will want to add to their digital video toolbox."

"With the computing power of the Pentiumr Pro processor and the exceptional
video special effects capabilities of Adobe After Effects, combined with
MetaTools Final Effects, the Windows NT/95 operating system on Intel
architecture now offers professionals a powerful platform for digital
video production," said Tim Yiu, manager, authoring tools program for
Intel Corporation.

Final Effects for Windows NT/95 will transform basic video compositions
into remarkable presentations for output on film, videotape or CD-ROM.
Users will be able to generate fire, smoke, rain, explosions, transitions,
dramatic color shifts on background elements, distortion effects, and much
more. Near real-time previews will reduce costly mistakes, such as
unnecessary renderings. Its resolution-independent environment will allow
professional quality output in NTSC, PAL, SECAM, HDTV or 35mm.

MetaTools plans to ship Final Effects near the time that Adobe Systems
plans to ship Adobe After Effects for Windows NT/95. The suggested retail
price in the United States will be $695.
