Wildcat! 5 Web Server's Interactive Clients Now Accessible With Netscape
Navigator

Over 16 Million Netscape Navigator Users Can Now Access Interactive Web
Site Features; Mustang Internet Platform Gains "Browser Independence".

Bakersfield, California - April 15, 1996: Mustang Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:
MSTG) announced that its Wildcat! 5 Interactive Web Server now supports
full interactive access with Netscape Navigator Web browsers in a wide
area beta beginning today. The award-winning Wildcat! 5 Internet /
Intranet platform now allows Netscape Navigator browsers full access to
launch interactive clients including threaded message groups, real-time
group and private teleconferencing ("chat"), and file library uploading
and downloading. The move to "browser independence" -- the ability to
access Wildcat! 5 with standard web browsers - has been targeted by
Mustang executives and greatly expands accessibility to the Web platform's
audience. Netscape Communications Corporation's (Nasdaq: NSCP) Netscape
Navigator is currently the world's most popular Web browser which,
according to PC Week estimates, is used by 84% of the Internet users
domestically and internationally. Nielsen Media Research has estimated the
total number of Internet users exceeds 20 million.

"Implementing 'browser independence' is the next logical step in Wildcat!
5's evolution," stated Rick Heming, Vice President of Operations for
Mustang Software, Inc. "Our first goal with Wildcat! 5 was to provide
graphical access to Wildcat! 5 sites for the millions of users who do not
have Internet access - a goal we achieved by creating the Wildcat!
Navigator for dial-up connections. Our second goal is to enable the
millions of users already on the Internet to participate in Wildcat! 5's
interactive features. Opening access of Wildcat! 5 to Netscape Navigator
users expands our target market to a majority of Internet users who will
want to interact in Wildcat! 5's online communities."

On their initial visit to a Wildcat! 5 site, Netscape Navigator users have
the option of downloading any of seven individual clients for use while
accessing any Wildcat! 5 site:

* The Messaging client allows users to send and receive email (with or
without attachments), either individually or by using the built- in
address books; it also lets users read, scan, search and respond to
threaded messages in internally generated message groups or imported
Usenet newsgroups.

* The File and Transfer clients allow users to upload and download files
(with helpful file wizards), and gives users file search and content
viewing features.

* Two communications clients allow real-time interaction: the Chat client
allows group and private teleconferencing, while the Instant Message
client allows the ability to send and receive instant messages to and from
others currently online.

* The Who's Online client automatically shows how many users are online,
while the Personal Properties client allows users to change individual
system settings including passwords.
