Microsoft Internet Explorer Now Able to Launch Wildcat! 5 Web Server
Interactive Clients

Revolutionary Interactive Platform Now Provides Chat, File Uploading /
Downloading, and Full Messaging Capabilities Among Users With Microsoft's
Browser.

Bakersfield, CA - April 16, 1996: Mustang Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: MSTG)
announced today that its Wildcat! 5 Interactive Web Server has attained
full "browser independence" with the addition of interactive client access
with Microsoft Internet Explorer. The wide area beta test, which begins
today, enables Internet Explorer browser users to fully experience e-mail,
threaded messaging, chat, instant messaging and file library features
found on Mustang's Wildcat! 5 Web sites.

Embracing Internet Explorer access also opens use of Wildcat! 5 sites to
the millions of national online service subscribers who choose to have
Internet Explorer integrated into their online software. Visitors to
Wildcat! 5 online communities not only have interactive communication with
the site's developers, but can also freely communicate with others
visiting the Web site, using bulletin boards, real-time group chatting
areas and internal e-mail features, among others.

"The move to allow Internet Explorer access to Wildcat!'s interactive
clients not only allows almost anyone with an Internet connection and a
Web browser to participate in Wildcat! 5 online communities," stated Jim
Harrer, President and CEO of Mustang Software, "the move will ultimately
allow millions of users on national online services that use Internet
Explorer as part of their service the opportunity to explore and interact
in Wildcat! 5 Web sites."

Mustang Software recently enabled Netscape Navigator users full access to
Wildcat! 5 clients (Monday, 4/15/96). This, combined with today's
announcement expands the Wildcat 5 target audience to encompass virtually
anyone with a browser or modem. Computer users who do not have Internet
access can use Mustang's freely distributable Wildcat! Navigator for
direct dial access to the Wildcat! online platform.

On their initial visit to a Wildcat! 5 site, Internet Explorer users have
the option of downloading any of seven individual clients for use while
accessing any Wildcat! 5 site. The Messaging client allows users to send
and receive e-mail (with or without attachments), either individually or
by using the built-in address books; it also lets users read, scan, search
and respond to threaded messages in internally generated message groups or
imported Usenet newsgroups. The File and Transfer clients allow users to
upload and download files (with helpful file wizards), and gives users
file search and content viewing features. Two communications clients allow
real-time interaction: the Chat client allows group and private
teleconferencing, while the Instant Message client allows the ability to
send and receive instant messages to and from others currently online. The
Who's Online client automatically shows how many users are visiting the
Wildcat! 5 site, while the Personal Properties client allows users to
change individual system settings including passwords.
