JANE'S COMBAT SIMULATIONS TO SHIP ADVANCED TACTICAL FIGHTERS

Two Of The Biggest Names In Their Fields Create the First Product Stemming
From Five-Year Exclusive Alliance

SAN MATED, Calif., April 1, 1996 -- Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS), a
leading global interactive entertainment software company, and Jane's
Information Group, the premier international defense-industry publisher,
combine forces to deliver the first product published under the Jane's
Combat Simulations brand. Advanced Tactical Fighters (ATF) will
incorporate a new level of realism and authenticity that only the world's
leading provider of defense-related materials can provide. ATF is now
shipping.

A five-year exclusive alliance with Jane's, teaming the biggest talents in
air combat simulations with the most respected name in military reference
works, gives Electronic Arts (EA) production teams an undeniable
advantage. In addition to Jane's published and unpublished materials, EA
has full access to their extensive and accurate library of images and
global military information.

ATF uses Jane's vast resources of recently declassified information to
successfully simulate the experience of flying the most advanced jet
fighters in the world. ATF is the only flight simulation that features all
seven of these cutting-edge aircraft together in the same product -- the
Boeing F-22, F-117A Nighthawk, B-2A Spirit, X-29, X-31 EFM, ASTOVL, and
the Dassault Rafale C. ATF will support up to eight players on a network,
or two players via a modem. Players can now combine forces or go
head-to-head in dogfight action. In multiplayer mode, over 30 aircraft are
available for players to fly in the network.

New technology has also translated into greatly advanced 3D graphics for a
more authentic environment; what was previously flat is now richly
textured. This makes it possible to have digitized special effects,
including realistic damage to the aircraft, detailed explosions and
movable flight surfaces.

"Jane's participation throughout the design process of ATF has been key to
creating a realistic flight experience using authentic aircraft," says
Grace. "What makes these aircraft unique is that they are the fighters of
tomorrow. They are superior to present day fighters in that they are far
more maneuverable." He adds, "ATF allows pilots to experiment with many
new dogfighting techniques, new weapon systems and new flight modes. We
also have the finest flight simulation environment -- ATF feels more like
combat flying complete with realistic sights, sounds, and thinking."

Grace's ATF production team was responsible for the flight simulation
classic, Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, as well as last year's hit U.S. Navy
Fighters (USNF). PC Gamer magazine said USNF "could well be the most
authentic flight sim ever produced," and PC Simulations deemed it "the
flight sim standard for 1995."

Jane's Information Group, almost a century old, is the leading provider of
defense-related information to the world's militaries, governments, and
businesses. This global company is best known for its ability to track and
publish essential and definitive information on the defense, aerospace,
and transportation industries through their numerous magazines, yearbooks,
and CD-ROMs. Jane's is also responsible for weekly and monthly
publications which are read in more than 165 countries by top military
strategists.
