Experience Nation-Building At Its Best.

Conquest Of The New World Lands At Retail.

April 24, 1996 -- Irvine, California -- Interplay Productions announced
today the release of Conquest Of The New World for IBM PC and 100%
compatibles. The exploration, discovery and conquest of the new world in
the 15th century comes to life in this new strategy game from Interplay.
From the creators of the award-winning CASTLES and CASTLES II: Siege &
Conquest, this new strategy game is as epic in its nature as the New World
was to those first few explorers.

"We believe that Conquest Of The New World takes strategy gaming to the
next level with its superior SVGA graphics and compelling gameplay,"
commented Jim Veevaert, marketing manager for Interplay. "In order to
showcase Conquest, we've created a dedicated web site that pushes on-line
technologies to the limit and allows gamers to play an actual game of
combat without downloading the demo."

Packed with outstanding graphics and gameplay, Conquest Of The New World is
a turn-based strategy game where players can compete as the Native
Americans or one of five different countries: England, France, Spain,
Holland or Portugal, each with their own advantages and handicaps. Players
must balance building, trade, politics and warfare in their quest to
declare independence, build the ultimate nation and achieve victory. Grand
battles, discovering riches and developing resources are just some of the
elements that players will encounter in Conquest Of The New World.

A built-in tutorial provides game fundamentals along with on-screen
instructions and automatic and manual game settings allow players to
macro- or micro-manage their game, choose their own victory conditions and
fully customize their game. Unlike other games in the genre, this
outstanding title is filled with SVGA graphics, a zoom-in function which
reveals exciting 3D animations, a full orchestral score and life-like
sound effects from the 15th century.

Developed by Quicksilver Software, Conquest Of The New World supports
solitaire and multi-player variations. Up to six players can battle it out
over a network via hot-seat, or two people can go head-to-head over a
modem (IPX, serial and modem connections are supported).

Conquest Of The New World was produced by Interplay's Vince DeNardo in
conjunction with the development team at Quicksilver Software. Vince
DeNardo's other production credits at Interplay include the award-winning
CASTLES II: Siege & Conquest and the American versions of Alone In The
Dark and Alone In The Dark 2. Mr. DeNardo began his career in the
interactive multimedia industry at Computer Gaming World Magazine as art
director, writer and assistant editor. In his spare time he raises
Siberian huskies and likes to dogsled.

Available on CD-ROM, Conquest Of The New World will run on any 486DX2/66 or
faster with DOS 5.0 or later or Windows 95 and at least 8Mb RAM. A
double-speed CD-ROM drive, hard drive installation, VESA- compatible SVGA
video adapter with at least 512K video RAM, mouse and Sound Blaster
compliant sound card are required. Check out Interplay's first-ever
single-game-dedicated web site for Conquest Of The New World at
