IN FOCUS SYSTEMS BREAKS THE PRICE PERFORMANCE BARRIER WITH ITS NEW,
FULLY-INTEGRATED MULTIMEDIA PROJECTOR - THE LITEPRO 210

The Affordably Priced LitePro 210 is the First Portable, Active-Matrix
Multimedia Projector with Advanced Ease-Of-Use Features, Built-In JBL
Speakers, and Modular Architecture

WILSONVILLE, ORE. - April 2, 1996 - In Focus Systems today introduced the
award-wining LitePro 210, the first fully integrated, portable
active-matrix multimedia projector with advanced ease-of-use features,
enhanced audio featuring built-in JBL speakers, and modular architecture.
With prices starting as low as $5,499, the user-friendly design of the
LitePro 210 multimedia projector allows users to easily present and share
computer graphics, audio and video in business meetings, sales
presentations, training sessions or software demonstrations.

The first projector to integrate consumer technology, the LitePro 210
breaks the ease-of-use barrier for novice users. The LitePro 210 is
completely plug-and-play, engineered to project a bright, high-quality
image, "out of the box," without requiring adjustments typically
associated with set-up of conventional liquid crystal display (LCD)
projectors. At an affordable price point for large and small businesses
alike, the LitePro 210 is also first in a family of products from In Focus
Systems to offer custom computer and video input modularity.

"As the front-runner in the industry, In Focus Systems thinks the LitePro
210 will set the price performance standard for multimedia projection,"
said Mark Reed, vice president of sales, marketing and service for In
Focus Systems. "The intelligent design and engineering of the LitePro 210
offers breakthrough easy-to-use features for users and sophisticated
technology for bright, high-quality computer and video projection."

Partnering for Multimedia Made Easy

The LitePro 210 was designed in alliance with leading consumer product
manufacturers. The LitePro 210 offers rich multimedia featuring a built-in
JBL audio system from Harman International and accurate color quality with
the Kodak Color Matching system.

In Focus Systems partnered with Harman International to enhance audio sound
from the LitePro 210 multimedia projector by using two hi-fidelity JBL
speakers. Branded with the JBL logo, the LitePro 210 sends audio from the
high-frequency speaker upward and audio from the full-range speaker out
the back of the projector, totaling 15 watts of ambient surround sound.
The result is rich, room-filling audio that sets a new standard for
multimedia projectors. Audio on the LitePro 210 can be augmented with
additional JBL speakers and subwoofer available as options from In Focus
Systems.

"The LitePro 210 is the first projection system to incorporate a built-in
JBL audio system," said Sidney Harman, Chairman of Harman International.
"We are excited about our partnership with In Focus and the opportunity to
set a new audio standard for multimedia projection."

The LitePro 210 is planned to be the first multimedia projector featuring
Kodak's Color Matching System software. The Kodak system provides the best
color management solution for ensuring color accuracy and consistency
between input devices such as color scanners, computer monitors and the
projected image.

Bright, Light Design for Mobile Presenters

With 640 x 480 resolution, the LitePro 210 uses an enhanced, highly
transmissive, active-matrix 6.5-inch diagonal amorphous silicon LCD. The
LitePro 210 also projects images up to 800 x 600 resolution, including
SVGA, through an advanced image compression technology, and is compatible
with most PC and Macintosh computers.

The LitePro 210 projects images that can be easily seen in typical room
lighting. The projector's light source features a high-efficiency,
high-brightness 270-watt metal halide lamp that produces high-impact
colors and brightness measuring 235 ANSI lumens.

The LitePro 210 was ergonomically designed with the mobile presenter in
mind. Weighing just 16 pounds, the LitePro 210's low-profile styling is
designed to complement the most prestigious presentation environments.
Controls requiring manual adjustments are color-coded and marked with
familiar icons to make set-up quick and easy.

The LitePro 210 supports full-motion video with a contrast ratio of 100:1,
and a 25-millisecond response time and palette of 16.7 million colors. The
LitePro 210 also supports worldwide video standards, including NTSC, PAL
and SECAM. In addition, a Universal Power Supply allows the projector to
be used with power sources worldwide. High quality precision optics ensure
crisp corner to corner focus. The LitePro 210 can project images from
33-inches to 250-inches in size with its standard lens. For greater
projector placement flexibility, an optional zoom lens is available for
projected images that can range from 33-inches to 360-inches.

A Suite of User-Friendly Features

The design of the LitePro 210 sets a new standard for easy-to-use
multimedia projection with an innovative suite of features including In
Focus Systems' advanced electronics, sophisticated embedded software and
user interface, next generation "Smart Remote," and revolutionary
CableWizard(tm), all of which incorporate familiar icons from consumer
products to help guide users during assembly and use.

In Focus Systems custom ASIC provides auto-sensing and software that
eliminate time-consuming and difficult sync, tracking and position
adjustments associated with conventional multimedia projectors. The
software in the LitePro 210 automatically identifies and interprets the
computer and video signals coming into the projector and adjusts it for
optimal image quality.

For custom adjustments, a new user interface, with on-line help, guides
users through the Picture, Audio and Display settings. Point- and-click
menu selections are made using the new Smart Remote.

A new, handheld infrared Smart Remote makes it easy to control the LitePro
210 without interrupting a presentation. The size of a typical television
remote, the Smart Remote features large backlit buttons with familiar
icons and tactical response for controlling a PC or Macintosh computer
from up to 40-feet away. Easy-to-see indicator lights verify the
operational status of the LitePro 210.

In Focus System's intelligent CableWizard allows users to easily connect
their computer, audio, mouse and monitor loop-through to the LitePro 210
through an all-in-one system. Powered by an embedded microprocessor, the
CableWizard eliminates unsightly cables and gives the user added computer
placement flexibility for a more professional presentation. Compatible
with most PC and Macintosh personal computers, the CableWizard comes
standard with a nine-foot cable. An optional 40-foot extension cable is
available, requiring no amplification.

The unique modular design of the In Focus Systems family of new products
protects the users' investment by providing a cost-effective method for
customizing the product to meet specific application requirements. The
modular architecture provides a sensible solution for integrating future
product enhancements, thereby extending the product's capabilities.

Lowering the Price Barrier

The modular architecture of the LitePro 210 allows In Focus Systems to
aggressively price a computer graphic projector at $5,499 (U.S. list). The
suggested price for a complete LitePro 210 multimedia system, computer
graphics and video support is $5,999 (U.S. list). The LitePro 210 is
available immediately through authorized In Focus Systems resellers and
distributors worldwide. All In Focus Systems' projection products include
a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
