FORTE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES FIRST AND ONLY VR SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS 95

Forte's Virtual Reality Products Are First to be Supported in Microsoft's
Windows 95, Direct Input and GameSDK Environments

ROCHESTER, NY -- FORTE Technologies Inc., an international leader in the
development of consumer virtual reality (VR) products has announced the
availability of Windows 95 Direct Input Drivers and the VFX1 HEADGEAR
Software Developer Kit. Developed through a joint effort with Microsoft
Corporation, the availability of these drivers establishes FORTE
Technologies as the only company within the virtual reality industry to
adhere to true Windows 95 compatibility.

Microsoft's development Application Programmer's Interface (API) for
Windows 95, Direct Input and the GameSDK allows software applications to
work directly with FORTE products providing immersive, interactive VR in a
Windows 95 environment. Direct Input is a subset of the GameSDK that
allows application developers easy access to multiple peripherals without
having to support each device individually. Through Direct Input, users
are given the option of using a VFX1 HEADGEAR or CyberPuck VR Game
Controller instead of a joystick or mouse. This functionality adds for
true VR compatibility with Windows 95 applications which until now, has
not been available anywhere.

"Unlike other companies that force developers to support their hardware
directly, FORTE is the first company in the VR industry to deliver full
GameSDK compliance," said Paul Travers, president and CEO of FORTE
Technologies. "This VR support gives developers and consumers direct
access to all features of FORTE's products including the VFX1 HEADGEAR and
CyberPuck in a Windows 95 environment. These features include
head-tracking, 3D stereo imaging and communication. This technological
advancement is the result of FORTE and Microsoft directly working together
to further the VR market."

Software from Microsoft's GameSDK will support the VFX1 HEADGEAR along with
FORTE's line of integrated peripherals including the CyberPuck and the
ACCESS.bus technology, which is integral to FORTE's philosophy of
expandability.

"The GameSDK is the first step in providing robust support for cool VR
devices like the VFX1," said Alex St. John, games evangelist for Microsoft
Corp. "We are working closely with FORTE to ensure that the GameSDK works
well with their VR technology and even takes special advantage of it in
future releases."

"Support in the GameSDK is integral to the continued success of all Windows
95 supported hardware products, and we are happy that working drivers are
now available for FORTE's products. The GameSDK will not only increase the
number of applications which are Windows 95 specific, it will open the
market for more software titles which are VR specific," added Travers.

FORTE Technologies is a market leader in the development of interactive
virtual reality technology. The product line includes FORTE's VFX1 Virtual
Reality System, which has been successfully introduced as the premier
immersive and interactive virtual reality system on the market, and the
CyberPuck VR Game Controller. FORTE Technologies products are available
directly from the company as well as through Ingram Micro, American
Software & Hardware, Tiger Software, Incredible Universe, PC Mall and
other selected distributors and retailers. FORTE is a voting member on the
USB, ACCESS.bus and VESA committees.
