DIGI INTERNATIONAL'S DATAFIRE WINS NETWORK COMPUTING'S "WELL-CONNECTED"
AWARD FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

DATAFIRE TOPS REMOTE ACCESS AND MOBILE COMPUTING CATEGORY BASED ON ITS
ABILITY TO PROVIDE QUALITY ISDN SOLUTIONS

April 4, 1996 -- NETWORLD+INTEROP--Digi International Inc. today announced
that its DataFire ISDN LAN adapter card has won Network Computing's 1996
Well-Connected Award for "Best Single-User ISDN Product" for the second
consecutive year.

The DataFire U Client, which provides reliable, high-speed access to the
corporate network, Intranet or the Internet, was selected by Network
Computing's editorial staff for its ease-of-use, reliability and value.

"The DataFire demonstrates our commitment to providing quality,
cost-effective remote access solutions that meet the needs of our
customers," said James R. Baker, Digi International's vice president and
general manager of the Remote Access business unit. "With the growing
market demand for reliable ISDN solutions, we're extremely pleased to have
the DataFire family again be recognized by the respected editorial staff
of Network Computing."

The Well-Connected Award was presented to Digi International at a gala
event held Tuesday night April 2 at the Las Vegas Hilton during the
NetWorld+Interop 96 Las Vegas trade show and is also highlighted in the
April 1 issue of Network Computing.

"The Well-Connected Awards are significantly different from other IS or
networking publications' awards," said Patricia Schnaidt, Editor-in-Chief
of Network Computing. "Our awards aren't based on a reader popularity
contest or editors' secondhand knowledge of the product marketplace. Our
editors have tested these products themselves in our real-world labs.
These are the products they would design into production networks of their
own. That's what make the Well-Connected Awards the industry's most
coveted and meaningful editor's choice award.

Engineered for ease of use, DataFire is one of the most cost-effective ways
to equip a PC with high-speed ISDN communications capabilities. DataFire
integrates an ISDN network interface card, NT1 (line terminator) and power
supply into a single unit to meet all of the hardware needs for connecting
a PC to an ISDN line for access to the corporate network, the Internet or
on-line service providers. DataFire installs in the expansion slot of
ISA-bus PCs, connects directly to a BRI ISDN line, and supports one 128
Kbps or two 64 Kbps communications channels.
