DIGI INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES INDUSTRY'S WIDEST RANGE OF COMPLETE SOLUTIONS
FOR WINDOWS NT

INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS ENABLE ACCESS FOR UNLIMITED REMOTE USERS AND ELIMINATE
EXTERNAL HARDWARE

March 28, 1996 -- MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. -- Digi International Inc., a leading
provider of connectivity solutions, today announced WAN Access for Windows
NT solution bundles. By combining its entire range of communications
adapters with its powerful software, Digi delivers integrated solutions
that provide an easy, cost-effective way to configure a server with remote
access or routing capabilities over analog modems, Frame Relay, X.25 or
ISDN.

Digi's integrated solutions enhance Windows NT by allowing it to
internetwork an unlimited number of remote systems over fast, reliable
Frame Relay and X.25 networks. Widely distributed LANs, PCs, multimedia
systems, Internet servers, information kiosks, telephony equipment, retail
POS systems, and traditional serial multiport systems can now connect to
global WANs at speeds of up to T1/E1.

"These solutions are designed to integrate WAN communications with Windows
NT's powerful server-based routing software, eliminating the need for
external box routers or rack-mounted equipment," said James R. Baker, Digi
International vice president and general manager of the Remote Access
business unit. "Now TCP/IP traffic can be routed over high speed Frame
Relay or X.25 circuits that provide the perfect solution for
interconnecting widely distributed branch offices and for building global
network systems.

"Digi's asynchronous, synchronous, and ISDN adapters can be installed in
the same NT server to provide the flexibility to implement the exact
number and type of remote connections needed," Baker continued. "In fact,
the solutions are designed to grow with the needs of their users by simply
adding hardware adapters."

WAN Access for NT software comes bundled with either a 2 port Digi SYNC/570
or a 2 or 4 port SYNC/570i synchronous adapter. WAN Access for Windows NT
is quickly installed and allows individual ports to be configured for
either X.25 or Frame Relay. If WAN requirements change, users can easily
migrate to the other WAN protocol by simply changing their WAN Access for
NT software configuration.

Digi's integrated synchronous solutions for Windows NT, currently available
worldwide, are:

 Digi SYNC/570 2 port EIA-232 & WAN Access, U.S. list price $1,290
 Digi SYNC/570i 2 port V.35 & WAN Access, U.S. list price $1,490
 Digi SYNC/570i 4 port EIA-232 & WAN Access, U.S. list price $1,795
 Digi SYNC/570i 2 port X.21 & WAN Access, U.S. list price $1,390
 Digi SYNC/570i EIA-232 & WAN Access, U.S. list price $1,390
 WAN Access software-only, U.S. list price $695

These solutions complement Digi's ISDN and asynchronous solutions for
Windows NT, as well as its new ISDN adapter bundles for Microsoft Windows
95.
