CHICAGO, IL, April 1, 1996 -- Data General Corporation will demonstrate AV
Image 2.0, the next generation of its award-winning imaging software, for
the first time publicly at its booth, # 531, during the AIIM Show at

AV Image 2.0, Express-Track, AV cold and Staffware run on the entire family
of Data General's AViiON servers and support the company's extensive line

storage subsystems. Data General is now shipping a full line of Intel
based AViiON servers, ranging from powerful eight-processor SMP servers to
entry level departmental systems. The servers are available with the DG/UX
operating system or Windows NT Server operating systems and support more
than 15,000 applications.

"AIIM is the ideal setting to showcase AV Image 2.0, which is designed to
significantly enhance every aspect of the imaging process, from scanning
and indexing to workflow management," said William Zastrow, vice
president, Data General's Imaging Business Unit. "We also feel it is
imperative to provide a scalable solution for all of our customers,
regardless of the operating platform."

AV Image is an open, SQL based client/server document imaging system that

PCs as clients and UNIX based systems as servers.
