SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS FOR WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT

NAUTILUS WILL RUN ON AVIION SERVERS UNDER THE DG/UX OR WINDOWS NT SERVER
OPERATING SYSTEM

WESTBORO, Mass., April 3, 1996 -- Data General Corporation announced today
the availability of PCS Technologies, Inc.'s Nautilus warehouse management
software system for its AViiON line of servers. Nautilus, a complete
enterprise solution for warehouse management in the retail and
manufacturing industries, operates under either the DG/UX or Microsoft
Windows NT Server operating system running on AViiON servers.

"The combination of AViiON servers and Nautilus software provides a very
cost-effective solution that gives an increased competitive advantage to a
broad range of businesses in the retailing and manufacturing markets who

Nautilus is an integrated, software management system that monitors
virtually every function within a warehouse. Nautilus includes real-time
inventory management; advanced shipping notices; fluid and staged loading
procedures; bulk, case and unit picking via RF or pick-to-light with
automated minimum/maximum replenishment; a receiving module that supports
cross-dock shipping; and putaway with interleaved cycle counting.
Real-time processing enables Nautilus to give accurate, up-to-the-minute
on-line inventory information, maximizing product control and distribution
efficiency.

The Nautilus solution is immediately available on Data General's full line
of Intel based AViiON servers, which range from powerful eight-processor
SMP servers to entry level departmental systems. The servers are available
with the DG/UX or Windows NT Server operating system and support more than
15,000 applications.

Data General's DG/UX enterprise operating system is rated as the finest
commercial UNIX operating system by industry analysts. The newest release,
DG/UX 4.1, supports high levels of multiprocessor scalability, high
availability, unique cluster features like a single system image and
rolling software upgrades, and 7 X 24 systems management capabilities.
