Value To Customers

AUSTIN, TEXAS, APRIL 15, 1996 -- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL),
the world's leading direct marketer of computer systems, today announced
it now offers powerful 3Com Ethernet PC Cards (PCMCIA) for its Dell
Latitude notebook PCs, providing users with quick and easy access to
applications and information on their corporate networks. Available
immediately in the US and Europe, the 3Com Ethernet PC Cards are tested
and validated for use with Dell's entire line of Latitude notebook PCs.
The 10Base-T version costs $159 and the 10Base-2/10Base-T combo version
costs $199 in the U.S.

The Plug-and-Play ready PC Cards slide easily into one of the two Dell
Latitude notebook PCMCIA slots and are quickly set up in approximately
three minutes. Customers who use a Novell Netware operating system can use
the AutoLink feature to automatically configure the PC Cards and set up
their notebook for logging on to the network.

3Com's PC Cards provide customers with broad operating system and network
operating system compatibility. Information System managers can
efficiently manage their company's networks by using SNMP-compliant
systems tools to monitor the PC Cards.

Dell was the first manufacturer to ship PCs with 3Com's Fast Ethernet 100Mb
Ethernet adapter cards factory-installed; 3Com's Parallel Tasking 10Mb
EtherLink III Adapters are integrated on the motherboards of Dell OptiPlex
desktop systems; 3Com's Ethernet workgroup switch, the Linkswitch 1000, is
bundled with Dell's PowerEdge SP servers. The 3Com PC Cards used in the
Dell Latitude notebook PCs are compatible with the adapters used in Dell's
other product lines.

The Dell Latitude XPi notebook PCs are designed to provide maximum
dependability and superior battery life for business customers who require
