DAYNA ANNOUNCES FIRST SINGLE-PORT BRIDGE TO ALLOW INEXPENSIVE CONNECTION OF
10BASE-T-ONLY DEVICES TO 100BASE-T LANS

NETWORLD+INTEROP, APRIL 2, 1996 - Dayna Communications, Inc. once again
helped users make a smooth transition to Fast Ethernet by announcing today
the first single-port bridge which will allow users to inexpensively
connect their 10BASE-T-only devices to Fast Ethernet LANs. Available in
May, the new BlueStreak Fast EtherPrint 10/100, which will sell for less
than $500, offers users a simple and affordable connection to 100BASE-T
Ethernet that high-end, multiple-address bridges cannot supply.

Fast EtherPrint is based on the concept of Dayna's popular EtherPrint
product which changed the Ethernet industry in 1990 by allowing users to
inexpensively connect slower, LocalTalk printers to newly emerging 10 Mbps
Ethernet networks. Fast EtherPrint promises to solve a similar problem
common on today's Fast Ethernet networks by providing users an affordable
way to connect printers and other 10BASE-T-only devices to 100BASE-T
networks.

Using proprietary technology, Fast EtherPrint allows any 10BASE-T device,
independent of protocol, to be connected to a 100BASE-T workgroup or
network segment without a complex bridge or router. Fast EtherPrint is
perfect for users demanding inexpensive 100BASE-T connections for their
10BASE-T only printers. It is also well suited for mobile notebook users
who need to connect to a 100BASE-T network.

"Fast EtherPrint is a simple solution which does not force users on
100BASE-T segments to purchase an expensive, multiple-port bridge for the
few 10 Mbit devices they want to connect to their Fast Ethernet network,"
said William Kilmer, Manager of Product Marketing at Dayna. "Many Fast
Ethernet users want to connect devices such as printers to a local
segment, but are forced to run them through a centralized 10/100 bridge or
switch. It's more convenient for users to connect their 10 BASE-T-only
devices to the 100 Mbit local segment so those devices are physically
close to those users who need them. Fast EtherPrint is the easiest and
least expensive way to do this."

Fast EtherPrint offers users a small, compact design, and includes an RJ-45
jack for both 100BASE-T and 10BASE-T connections. Further information on
Fast EtherPrint's actual pricing and features will be announced when the
product ships in May.
