CHEYENNE INTRODUCES COMPREHENSIVE WINDOWS NT OPTICAL AND CD JUKEBOX
MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

Cheyenne Optical Server and Cheyenne CD Server Met With Praise From
Industry Leaders

CHICAGO, IL (April 1, 1996) - Cheyenne Software, Inc. (AMEX:CYE) today
introduced products that provide optical and CD jukebox users with 'plug
and play' data management solutions that facilitate ease-of-use,
transparent access, remote access and jukebox management across a
Microsoft Windows NT network. The announcement of Cheyenne CD Server and
Cheyenne Optical Server brings Cheyenne's long-standing expertise in
storage management to the optical and CD storage market.

Cheyenne Optical Server -- which enables an optical jukebox to appear and
perform as one or several hard drives -- and Cheyenne CD Server -- which
makes jukeboxes and towers appear as a single drive letter -- have already
generated excitement and support from several key players in the storage
and imaging community.

Cheyenne's optical and CD products will support a number of vendor's
devices. "Cheyenne's technology, obtained through its acquisition of Media
Blitz, provides seamless integration of optical and CD jukeboxes and
enables plug and play connectivity with jukeboxes," said Phil Storey,
president at Plasmon Data, Inc.. "This technology gives Cheyenne a
significant advantage in the Windows NT market for jukebox management
software."

"The introduction of our optical and CD server products continues
Cheyenne's commitment to develop innovative technologies that provide data
and storage management solutions for our customers," said T.M. Ravi,
Director of Marketing, NT Division, at Cheyenne Software, Inc. "The
underlying technology of these products provides a seamless, plug and play
integration of optical and CD jukeboxes."

CHEYENNE OPTICAL SERVER

Cheyenne Optical Server enables an optical jukebox to appear and perform as
one or many hard drives, thereby providing jukebox users with large
capacity near-line storage and transparent access to data. In addition, it
provides users with much easier access to information stored in a jukebox
through its seamless integration with applications and file systems.

"Cheyenne's optical server software provides the end-user with high
performance access to data and incredible ease-of-use," said Dave Morse,
Marketing Manager at Hewlett-Packard's Storage Systems Division. "With
this announcement, Cheyenne is a significant player in the optical jukebox
management industry."

"Customers that rely on the storage capacity of optical jukeboxes will
clearly benefit from Cheyenne's Optical Server software," said Elizabeth
Kim, Marketing Manager of the Integrated Storage Products Division of Sony
Electronics, Inc. "Users can now store very large files in virtual disks
that span multiple platters, making it an attractive storage option for
users of imaging, document management, video and other applications that
generate large files."

CHEYENNE CD SERVER

Cheyenne CD Server provides simultaneous access and shared use of CDs, by
making a collection of CDs appear as a single drive letter and each CD
platter appear as a directory with an independent file system. As a
result, data on CDs can be transparently accessed from a variety of
clients on a network, directly from applications or through File Manager
or a DOS command prompt. When data on a CD is requested, the CD is
automatically mounted in a drive and the data is accessed and returned to
the requesting client.
