MONEY BRINGS POWERFUL PERSONAL FINANCE TOOLS TO WOW!

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 11, 1996 -- Money magazine, the nation's largest
financial publication, has created a suite of special interactive tools
and features exclusively for WOW! from CompuServe, the new consumer online
service for home use.

The tools are designed to help give WOW! members a better understanding of
all aspects of their finances, including saving for retirement, borrowing,
investing and more. In addition to the interactive content, Money offers
users easy-to-follow ideas on a broad range of financial topics.

"Money's contributions to WOW! promote active involvement on the part of
our members, allowing them to get customized suggestions for their unique
financial challenges," said Scott Kauffman, CompuServe vice president of
consumer markets and WOW! general manager.

"These tools exemplify the kind of leading-edge, real-life applications
home users want, and we anticipate an expansion of Money's role on WOW! as
we move forward."

The interactive features created for WOW! include several "calculators" and
quizzes designed to help members get a fix on, for example, their
tolerance for risk, their monthly goal for retirement savings or how much
home they can afford.

"By asking members very detailed questions, these services can provide
personalized guidance to some of the complex financial situations we all
encounter," said Kevin McKean, Money's editor for new media. "While they
can save you hours of calculation, these features should not be regarded
as oracles, but rather as tools for solid financial planning." McKean
added that while members who use the calculators are asked for highly
sensitive information about their personal finances, none of the data is
collected, stored or communicated in any way.

The interactive tools include:

* The Instant Budget Maker. This allows members to compare their spending
to that of other Americans with similar household incomes and family
demographic profiles. An additional feature will soon offer special advice
to people whose expenditures are significantly out of line (e.g., how to
bring down your food bills if your grocery spending is too high).

* How Much Should I Save for Retirement? This feature lets members
calculate how much they need to save, on a monthly basis, to build a
retirement fund that will provide them with enough income to maintain
their living standard. It takes into account existing sources of income as
well as likely future investment performance and inflation -- and may
provide a distressing reality check for many people, as surveys show that
most Americans do not save enough for retirement.

* What's Your Risk Tolerance? This tool poses a series of often-quirky
questions designed to judge how comfortable members are with financial
risk (including whether they would go bungee-jumping). Based on the
answers, Money offers a colorful diagram suggesting how to allocate
investments among various types of assets in order to maximize return
without incurring an uncomfortable level of risk.

Other calculators and quizzes include What's Your Mutual Fund IQ?, The
Debt-Buster, How Much House Can I Afford? and much more. A Money reference
section on WOW! contains a personal finance guidebook as well as numerous
how-to articles from the magazine on a variety of topics. Money also plans
to host weekly live conferences on WOW! featuring experts in various areas
of personal finance.
