WILLOWS AND BORLAND PARTNER TO DELIVER OWL CROSS-PLATFORM WITH TWIN APIW

WILLOWS NOW OFFERS OWL FOR UNIX, MACINTOSH, NETWARE AND OTHER PLATFORMS TO
PROVIDE SIMPLE, ELEGANT FRAMEWORK FOR CROSS-PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT

SAN FRANCISCO -- March 26, 1996 -- Software Development '96 -- Willows
Software, the company who standardized the Windows API for cross-platform
development, and Borland International Inc., the premier provider of
software development tools and services, today announced a strategic
technology alliance to provide Borland's ObjectWindows Library (OWL) as a
cross-platform development solution.

"OWL is an excellent object framework for Windows development, and we are
excited to be able to provide it with truly cross-platform capabilities,"
said Steve Champion, director of business development for Willows
Software, Inc. "The combination of OWL's sophisticated level of
abstraction with our cross-platform TWIN APIW will provide the easy,
low-cost solutions that developers are looking for to build the kind of
applications their customers want, and deploy them on the platform that
best meets their business needs."

Willows's product, TWIN APIW, enables developers to build applications to
the Windows API and deploy those applications on Macintosh, UNIX, NetWare
and other platforms. Through its alliance with Borland, Willows will
deliver OWL for the TWIN APIW, offering developers the elegance and
simplicity of OWL's development environment on an API that allows
cross-platform deployment of their applications.

"Willows's TWIN APIW is established as the standard cross-platform
development tool for Windows," said Bill Jordan, vice president of
business development at Borland International. "Partnering with Willows is
a natural evolution of Borland's business model of expanding our
developers' reach through standard APIs. This alliance now allows our
customers to build and deploy applications cross-platform through Willows'
technology. Willows provides a superior and low-cost solution to the
problem of cross-platform development. We look forward to collaborating
with Willows on other cross-platform development projects."

TWIN/OWL TECHNOLOGY

Designed to create a seamless migration path from Windows applications to
other platforms, TWIN APIW provides a library based on Windows, with added
features such as header files and standard development tools. Based on a
single set of source code that can be compiled and linked for any target
environment, TWIN APIW allows developers to deliver cross-platform,
full-featured applications, that run at native execution speed. Because
the application code remains completely compatible with Windows,
developers are able to take advantage of the pervasive Windows market,
while reaching other target markets with the same application.

Implemented on top of the TWIN APIW, OWL now provides the application
framework necessary to easily build cross-platform applications. OWL 5.0
provides splash screens, dockable toolbars, splitter windows, and several
new gadgets to speed up the development process. Additionally, OWL
provides synchronization objects for multi-threaded development and eases
the transition to 32-bit development by supporting both 32- and 16-bit
development, including 16-bit emulation of most Windows 95-based common
controls.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

TWIN APIW has been available since December of 1995 and has been adopted by
thousands of developers worldwide. Borland's OWL is available in the
recently released Borland C++ Development Suite 5.0 and Borland C++ 5.0.

TWIN APIW and OWL will be distributed by Willows on its TWIN APIW CD
beginning in Q2 1996 for an annual subscription fee of $250. Customers can
