SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- March 26, 1996 -- Borland International Inc.
announced today the availability of Borland C++ Development Suite 5.0, the
first comprehensive, integrated C++ development suite that combines five
essential tools to speed software development, and Borland C++ 5.0, the
latest version of its award-winning C and C++ development system.

The company also announced a new ObjectScripting contest, in which the
grand prize winner is eligible to win a new laptop computer.
ObjectScripting, a new fully programmable and flexible system that allows
developers to easily modify and configure Borland's award-winning
integrated development environment (IDE), is included in both Borland C++
Development Suite 5.0 and Borland C++ 5.0. ObjectScripting allows
developers to easily modify functionality, automate tedious common tasks,
integrate tools and utilities, and add new custom features to tailor the
IDE to precisely match their own specific needs.

"We have designed both the Borland C++ Development Suite and Borland C++
5.0 to be the fastest and most flexible development environments for
software developers to build both 32- and 16-bit applications," said
Richard Gorman, vice president of Product Marketing and Product Management
for Borland. "Our ObjectScripting contest was created so all Borland C++
Development Suite and Borland C++ 5.0 customers can use and leverage the
large number of scripts other software programmers have already designed.
These ready-made scripts will further increase programmer productivity for
our wide legion of Borland C++ developers."

BORLAND C++ DEVELOPMENT SUITE 5.0

the industry leader in version control, which oversees changes to all
elements that comprise a software system; and InstallShield Express, which
visually creates install programs for deploying applications with
point-and-click ease using pre-built components. Borland C++ Development
Suite also includes the new AppAccelerator for Java, a just-in-time
compiler which makes Java applications run five to ten times faster.

BORLAND C++ 5.0

Borland C++ 5.0 includes a native 32-bit hosted environment, which lets
developers target multiple platforms, including Windows 95, Windows NT,
Windows 3.1, and DOS. Borland C++ 5.0 also includes a new version of
Borland's award-winning application framework, ObjectWindows Library (OWL)
5.0, which includes support for the Windows 95-based common controls and

(VDBT), which let programmers visually create high-performance database
applications faster and easier. Borland C++ also includes support for
namespaces; the standard C++ library; OCX support; integrated 32-bit
resource editing; and integrated 32-bit debugging. Borland C++ 5.0 also
