BOCA RESEARCH UNVEILS NEW DESKTOP VIDEOCONFERENCING PRODUCT

Boca Raton, FL April 22, 1996 - Boca Research, Inc. (NASDAQ: BOCI)
announced today its plans to expand its video family of products with the
addition of a desktop videoconferencing product. The new product, the
first in a series of desktop videoconferencing products planned, is being
demonstrated during Boca Research's Global MegaMedia Technology Conference
this week in Boca Raton. The live demo will highlight the product's
two-way videoconferencing features from the MegaMedia Technology
Conference to MultiMedia Access Corporation's offices in Dallas, Texas.
Pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.

"Our videoconferencing product brings a new generation of technology that
is now affordable for the general public," said Steve Mills, vice
president of business development at Boca Research. "Businesses can save
travel dollars using our desktop videoconferencing system for one-on-one
video telephone calls and grand parents can now talk to and see their
grand children from their PCs," he added.

Product Features

Boca's desktop videoconferencing product provides face-to-face desktop
video conferencing with simultaneous audio/video over a single dial-up
telephone connection. This product is a collaborative effort and
combination of technology designs. Boca Research is designing the hardware
PCI bus adapter, MultiMedia Access Corporation is providing the
application software and Lucent Technologies' Microelectronics Group is
providing their AVP audio/video processor chip. This product will work
with all of Boca Research's V.34 modems and is an excellent bundle for
OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) as well as a great add-on package
for Pentium PCs.

On-board hardware provides real-time compression and decompression of audio
and video signals giving unsurpassed teleconferencing capability. It
supports high-quality connections to the desktop via the H.324 (POTS -
Plain Old Telephone Service), H.320 (ISDN) and H.323 (LAN) industry
standards. With its five external connectors for NTSC/PAL camera input,
microphone input, microphone output, line in and line out along with its
modular design, it is a complete desktop videoconferencing solution.
