AUTODESK'S INSIDE TRACK NAMED ONE OF TEN BEST MULTIMEDIA SOFTWARE TRAINING
PROGRAMS

AUTODESK AWARDED FOR SUPERIOR INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

SAN RAFAEL, California, April 1, 1996 -- Multimedia Training Newsletter has
named Autodesk's InsideTrack for Mechanical Design & Drafting one of the
"Ten Best Multimedia Training Programs" at the 19th Annual Training
Conference & Expo held in Atlanta in January. Inside Track is a fast,
flexible, PC-based software tool that helps AutoCAD users learn how to
solve workplace design problems and find answers to technical questions
quickly and effectively. The software was released in December 1995 as the
first product from Autodesk Press, a global strategic alliance between
Autodesk and International Thomson Publishing, the world's leading
educational publisher. Computer Visualization, Inc.also teamed with
Autodesk's Learning and Training department to develop Inside Track's
content and learning environment.

Brandon Hall, Ph.D., editor and publisher of the Multimedia Training
Newsletter, Sunnyvale, California, stressed the strengths of Inside Track
at the Training Conference's Super Session on "EvaluatingTen of the Best
Multimedia Training Programs." Dr. Hall commented, "Inside Track's
superiority lies in its instructional design, which lets learners choose
from projects, concepts or techniques depending on their learning style.
This software effectively and appropriately employs beautiful graphics and
animation, and is very rich in content."

Inside Track for Mechanical Drafting & Design is an interactive multimedia
software learning tool based on AutoCAD Release 13, AutoCAD Designer 1.2
and AutoVision 2.0 software. The program gives its users individualized
instruction for both immediate and long-term productivity gains. If a
designer is on a tight deadline and does not know how to solve a specific
design problem, Inside Track will quickly identify and demonstrate the
proper technique to find the solution using the appropriate Autodesk
software. If a more broad-based understanding such as learning parametric
design is needed, users can practice real world projects to gain expertise
and enhance productivity.

"This product reflects the Autodesk Education Department's commitment to
provide 'best in class' learning for all Autodesk software users," said
Dr. James D. Purcell, Director of Autodesk's Education Department.

Wayne Hodgins, Autodesk's Technical Director for Learning Solutions, who
was instrumental in Inside Track's development, added, "Autodesk
recognizes that the only sustainable competitive advantage for software
users is the ability to learn the right things faster. Inside Track is the
first in a series of educational software tools resulting from years of
Autodesk's research into the learning and productivity needs of our
customers."

Inside Track for Mechanical Drafting & Design is available worldwide in
English only on CD-ROM for use in a Windows environment for a suggested
retail price of US $149.95(prices outside the United States may vary).
Inside Track requires a 33Mhz 486DX or better PC, double-speed CD-ROM,
16-Bit Digital Sound, a minimum of 16 MB RAM and a video adapter capable
of displaying 640 X 480 pixels with 64K colors (recommended). AutoCAD,
AutoCAD Designer and AutoVision software are not required. For more

Autodesk Press, founded early in 1995, develops and distributes training
materials that help both design professionals and students alike take full
advantage of Autodesk software. Autodesk Press works with Autodesk's
Education Department to provide the software and services that prepare
individuals for careers in design.
