Lead Story is first web-based service from AT&T Business Network

APRIL 2, 1996 -- CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- AT&T today launched Lead Story, the
first of a series of World Wide Web sites from AT&T Business Network
designed to serve the needs of business managers, professionals and
entrepreneurs.

Lead Story provides busy professionals with an in-depth view of one major
business or general-interest story per day, drawing from all the
journalistic and background sources on the Web. Lead Story can be accessed
through the URL http://www.leadstory.com.

Lead Story features links to news from a wide variety of Web sources, plus
analysis, opinion, background materials and other information that helps
give professionals the broadest possible perspective on a major story. By
organizing and presenting this content in one place, Lead Story lets
professionals spend valuable time digesting and acting on important
information, rather than seeking it out. Examples of Lead Story topics
include the federal budget showdown, Internet censorship, China's
controversial military exercises and the landmark tobacco industry
settlement.

A product of AT&T's New Media Services unit, AT&T Business Network is a
comprehensive online information service for business professionals, and
is currently hosted on AT&T Interchange Online Network, an advanced
publishing platform. By the end of 1996, the Web will be the primary
delivery vehicle for AT&T Business Network content, as the AT&T
Interchange platform will be phased out. Lead Story is the first of a
number of Web-based business information services from AT&T Business
Network that will launch over the next few months.

By selecting links to only the best and most original material, and
augmenting it with summaries, information graphics and other helpful
visuals, we are providing a complete, "one-stop shopping" view of a major
story," said Michael E. Kolowich, president of AT&T New Media Services.
"With Lead Story, whether you give us as little as five minutes or as much
as an hour, we'll give you the most comprehensive briefing available today
on the Web. Any serious professional should bookmark Lead Story and check
it every day -- it's a big time-saver."

Lead Story topics are archived for several days after they appear. Lead
Story is updated at noon Eastern time every business day, plus Saturday.
Lead Story is a free site; registration is not required and there are no
subscription fees charged.

AT&T recently announced the Introductory Advertising Program for Lead Story
and the other AT&T Business Network services launching on the Web this
Spring and Summer. The Introductory Advertising Program offers advertisers
competitively-priced, guaranteed impressions-based packages for reaching a
high-quality audience of business professionals on the Web. The first
companies advertising on Lead Story include Toyota and MasterCard
International.
