AT&T WorldNet Service customers to get CompuServe access at a discount

APRIL 3, 1996 -- BASKING EDITOR, N.J. -- AT&T and CompuServe Incorporated
today announced that they have agreed to provide customers of AT&T
WorldNet Service, which offers value-added access to the Internet, access
to the vast array of content and services on the CompuServeR Information
Service.

AT&T will feature and promote CompuServe and will take steps to make
CompuServe software available to AT&T WorldNet Service customers beginning
this summer.

CompuServe will be priced at a reduced rate for all customers who access
the service through AT&T WorldNet Service. Pricing for CompuServe through
AT&T WorldNet Service will be announced at a later date.

"By putting CompuServe's high-quality global content and international
services in easy reach of AT&T WorldNet Service customers, AT&T is making
good on its pledge to provide an innovative package of services, including
local, long-distance, wireless and online offers," said AT&T Chairman
Robert E. Allen.

Allen said that AT&T customers increasingly view the Internet as not only a
major resource for information, services and communications, but also as a
way of reaching useful and interesting subscription content and
communities of interest.

AT&T and CompuServe have a long-standing relationship. They have been
working together since late last year to bring CompuServe content to AT&T
customers, initially through a plan to provide connectivity between AT&T
NetWare Connect Service and CompuServe Information Service. The two
companies are now implementing a much broader relationship, expanding it
to the AT&T WorldNet Service, which includes consumer and business
Internet offerings over both dial access and LAN access.

More than 360,000 consumer and business customers have requested dial
access software for AT&T WorldNet Service in the five weeks since AT&T
began taking orders for the service, which began operations March 14. This
unprecedented response has been so great that AT&T has had to carefully
regulate distribution of access software to ensure a high-level of
customer support. Shipments of access software have been steadily
increasing as AT&T adds staff to its customer care centers.

AT&T WorldNet Service makes possible "the Internet for Everyone," with
directories and topical areas to help people find useful information,
guided tours for newcomers, navigational aids for users of all skill
levels, and electronic mail. While AT&T WorldNet Service will work with
most of today's popular Internet browsers, an AT&T-branded version of the
Netscape NavigatorR browser software, preconfigured for easy installation,
is available to subscribers at no extra charge. The service also includes
an AT&T toll-free, 24-hour hotline and worldclass customer care.
