Artisoft Now Shipping INSYNC ModemShare v7.0

(TUCSON, AZ-April 3, 1996)-Artisoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASFT) announced today
that it is now shipping INSYNC ModemShare v7.0 software for sharing modems
and phone lines across a local area network. Part of the recently launched
INSYNC remote communications product line, ModemShare allows all network
users to share modems and phone lines for easy and economical access to
the Internet, online services or for desktop faxing. ModemShare offers
total interoperability among Microsoft's Windows 95, Windows and DOS
operating systems, for seamless resource sharing in mixed operating
environments. Available through retail stores, Artisoft distribution
channels and value-added reseller partners, ModemShare starts at $129 MSRP
for a one-port version.

"Many businesses are eager to take advantage of the Internet and online
services, but few are willing to add phone lines for each of their
employees to access these resources," said David J. Saphier, general
manager of Artisoft's Remote Communications Product Group. "With
ModemShare, a company only needs one phone line and one modem to
affordably and easily provide online access for everyone on a network."

ModemShare enables fulfillment of a wide variety of communication needs,
including sending information by fax, transferring files, remotely
controlling PCs, and accessing the Internet, electronic bulletin boards
and online services. In addition, it provides benefits for businesses with
telecommuters and mobile professionals and with document-intensive
operations such as legal, banking/finance and insurance.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

ModemShare includes many enhancements over the previous version, Modem
Assist Plus v.4.0, in terms of power, ease of management, flexibility and
ease of use.

Power

ModemShare now allows Windows 95 users to access multiple services
simultaneously. Users can start downloading files from an online service,
and then start an Internet dialer to browse the World Wide Web while
waiting for the download to complete.

This function is also very useful for the telecommuter or mobile
professional who wants to dial in from off-site for a remote control
session on an office PC, and then initiate a call to a third computer from
the office. This allows the long distance charges to be incurred by the
office, even when users are working at home or in the field.

ModemShare's power has been further enhanced with its Windows 95 modem
client, which is compatible with the latest 32-bit communications
applications designed for Windows 95, as well as 16-bit and DOS
communications applications.

Ease of Management

ModemShare is easier to manage than ever before with the new remote monitor
function. This allows all Windows 95 and Windows modem clients to view the
available communications resources on the network, determine their status,
and remotely reset functions if trouble is detected. Communications
management functions were previously available only at the modem server.
Now users can remotely manage a modem server, instead of having to do so
in person.

ModemShare also allows businesses to keep a single log of network
communication activity across multiple ModemShare servers by actual user
name.

Flexibility

ModemShare is designed to work in mixed desktop operating environments,
including Windows 95, Windows and DOS clients and servers. This provides
complete flexibility in modem sharing configurations. Users no longer have
to share modems only at DOS modem server PCs.

Ease of Use

ModemShare's virtual transparency allows users to simply launch their
communication programs and proceed as if they had a local modem. This ease
of use is further enhanced with ModemShare's ability to grant and deny
shared access to modems on-the-fly, eliminating the need to load or unload
a DOS TSR.

AVAILABILITY AND PRICING

ModemShare is available in 1, 2, 4, 8 or 32-port versions, beginning at
$129 MSRP for the 1-port version. Add-on licenses for 4, 16 or 32 or more
ports are also available, beginning at $149 MSRP for the 4-port license.
Upgrades from any prior version of ModemShare are available for 4,16 or 32
or more ports, beginning at $79 MSRP for the 4-port upgrade.
