Archtek Brings Out New PCMCIA 28.8Kbps V.34 Fax/Modem + Ethernet Card

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. -- Archtek America Corporation has added two new
PC cards to its line of mobile communications devices, which are the
14,400bps and 28,800bps SmartLink fax/modem + Ethernet cards. These Type
II PCMCIA cards Archtek's commitment to provide the most technologically
advanced combination of functions on a single card.

These fax/modem + Ethernet cards allow users with PCMCIA compliant PC
notebook computers to either connect remotely to the LANs, or directly to
the LAN via 10Base-T, using either speed modem. They support Novel
Netware, IBM LAN Server, Banyan VINES and Microsoft Windows for
Workgroups, and are Novell NE2000 compatible.

The EIA Class I and Class 2 fax/modem + Ethernet supports full duplex data
transmissions up to 28,800bps, with the Group III fax capable of
communicating with virtually all fax machines. As a result, users can use
this SmartLink PC card while working on any project, from network
applications to data processing, without the necessity of swapping cards.

Using the extended AT set, with its low power consumption (750mw) and auto
sleep power management mode (less than 70mw), the user is assured of
extended battery life for their portable computer. With cellular
connectivity, the Archtek SmartLink fax/modem + Ethernet card is
compatible with most cellular telephones.

The PC cards comply with ITU-T V.34 (28.8) and V.32bis (14.4) standards, as
well as the V.Fast standard, for automatic rate negotiations and
connections at the highest possible speeds. The complete fall-forward and
fall-back intelligence allows SmartLink PCMCIA cards to adjust
automatically to a higher or lower speed to ensure the clearest
connection. Advanced MNP 5 and V.42bis data compression allows data
transmissions up to 115.2Kbps, which help lower line charges. MNP 2-4 and
V.42 error correction ensure communications accuracy.

In keeping with the Archtek slogan, Technology At Its Greatest, SmartLink
fax/modem + Ethernet PCMCIA cards offer the best combination of high-speed
performance, maximum upgrade flexibility and optimum reliability at an
affordable price.

The MSRP of the PCMCIA 28.8 fax/modem + Ethernet card is $439 and the 14.4
is $299. Both are backed by a limited five-year warranty and a
factory-trained technical support staff. For more information, contact
