FOR 84 DAYS, ACROSS 15,000 MILES, AND WITH 10,000 TORCHBEARERS:
America Online Embarks On A Road Trip of Olympic Proportion

Sends Its Lost in America Travelers to Cover the 1996 Olympic Torch Relay
to Atlanta

Vienna, VA April 24, 1996 - Swimming. Gymnastics. Basketball. Rowing. Now,
thanks to America Online, add road trip to this list of Olympic events.
The nation's leading commercial online services company announced today
that Lost in America, its interactive travel adventure forum and a service
of The AOL Greenhousex, will travel across America to cover the 1996
Olympic Torch Relay. Beginning April 27 at the Los Angeles Memorial
Coliseum and culminating with the arrival of the torch in Atlanta's
Centennial Olympic Stadium on July 19, four travelers will chronicle the
memory-making moments of the relay and provide daily online updates from
the road for AOL's more than 5 million members.

The travelers, all young journalists selected through a nationwide online
search, are armed with laptop computers, digital cameras, and portable
communications equipment. As they follow the relay route, this virtual
travel guide will provide AOL members with an in-depth look at this
age-old Olympic tradition. Lost in America is available in Clubs &
Interests on America Online and at Keyword: Lost.

"The Olympic Games is an honored tradition that epitomizes community
spirit. What better way to begin our in-depth coverage of the Olympics
than by having Lost in America's travelers, a community-focused forum,
chronicle these Olympic moments for AOL's members," said Ted Leonsis,
President of America Online Services Company.

Selected for their sense of adventure and humor, as well as their creative
writing and journalism skills, the four newest travelers are: Heather
Hartin from St. Louis, MO; Michael Locke from Raleigh, NC; David Nielsen
from Washington, DC; and Laura Zucco from Los Angeles, CA.

The Lost in America Olympic Relay journey will also be supported by
Hostelling International-American Youth Hostels (HI-AYH), a nonprofit
membership organization which promotes international understanding through
educational travel. HI-AYH will provide free accommodations for the
travelers throughout the duration of the trip.

Lost in America is the inspiration of Alexander Okuliar, David Shelton, and
Patrick Crowley, three men in their early twenties, who relocated to
Vienna, VA to establish a base of operations close to America Online. All
accomplished travelers, the partners combined their enthusiasm for the
open road with their creative talents to develop Lost in America. The
Olympic Relay trip is the third cross-country journey that LOST has taken
since its inception in September, 1995.

"We wanted to challenge the truth about the American dream with American
reality by sending a diverse group of young travelers to explore what this
country really has to offer," explains Alexander Okuliar, President of
Lost in America. "With the Olympics, we felt that we could provide members
an opportunity to follow the torch relay from home, gain interesting,
pertinent travel information from the group and grow to trust them as
friends."
