Conference Web Site Plays Back Daily Movies Produced On-Site in Premiere in
Real Time

NAB, Las Vegas (April 15, 1996) (Nasdaq:ADBE) -- Adobe Systems Incorporated
today announced that Adobe Premiere 4.2 for Windows has won a PC Graphics
& Video PRIME TIME PRODUCTS NAB '96 award here at the National Association
of Broadcasters (NAB) annual event. In addition, Version 4.2 in being used
on-site daily to produce movies for delivery over the conference Web site
in conjunction with the VDOLive video streaming technology from VDOnet
Corp. The movies can be viewed from NAB's Web site at
http://www.nab.org/cnvntns/nab96/promos/video.htm. Adobe Premiere 4.2 for
Windows, announced last month, is a new 32-bit version of the industry's
leading non-linear desktop editing application optimized for Microsoft
Windows 95 and NT 3.51. The product is being showcased here April 15-18 in
Adobe's booth, #M3842, Sands Convention Center.

The Adobe Premiere 4.2 Deluxe CD-ROM includes software from VDOnet Corp.
that allows users to create movies for real-time viewing over the Web
without downloading the files to their desktops. This process, referred to
as streaming video over the Internet, is made possible using VDOnet's VDO
Live codec and VDOLive Personal Server. The software allows users to
compress video clips in Adobe Premiere directly into VDOLive format for
real-time playback over the Web on Windows 95/NT systems. Video shot daily
at NAB is being compiled and edited with Adobe Premiere, compressed with
the VDOLive codec and then streamed from NAB's Web site. To view Premiere

PC Graphics & Video Magazine named Adobe Premiere 4.2 for Windows one of
the Top 10 innova-tive digital products at NAB '96. "PC Graphics & Video

Summary of New Features

Adobe Premiere 4.2 for Windows is a new 32-bit program that provides
significant performance improvements, supports the look and feel of
Windows 95 and NT and adds many enhancements for video professionals,
including special processing features and new filters.

The combination of the 32-bit architecture of Adobe Premiere 4.2 for
Windows and optimizations in the application set new performance standards
for non-linear desktop editing software based on Microsoft's Video for
Windows. Version 4.2 can perform up to2.5 times faster than Version 4.0,
depending on the hardware, when running under either operating system. The
32-bit architecture enables Adobe Premiere to continue to add capabilities
that video professionals require for on-line quality video on the desktop,
such as capturing higher data rate video for improved image quality and
faster rendering. The program's open, extensible plug-in interface enables
Adobe Premiere to take advantage of new technologies, like ActiveMovie,
Microsoft's upcoming version of Video for Windows, as they become
available.

The enhanced interface of Version 4.2 supports the look and feel of Windows
95 and NT with:

Special processing features optimize playback from CD-ROM or over the
Internet and provide more control. They include:

Price and Availability

Adobe Premiere 4.2 for Windows is expected to be available later this month
from Adobe Authorized Resellers at asuggested retail price of $795. In the
United States, registered users of Adobe Premiere 4.0 for Windows may
upgrade to the Deluxe CD-ROM for $49. Customers purchasing Adobe Premiere
4.0 on or after March 4, 1996, will receive a free Deluxe CD-ROM upgrade.
Through July 31, 1996, regis-tered users of Adobe Premiere 1.x and Adobe
Premiere LE may upgrade to the Deluxe CD-ROM Version 4.2 for $99. After
July 31, 1996, the price will rise to $149. For more information or to

System Requirements

Minimum system requirements for Adobe Premiere 4.2 for Windows include an
Intel i486 - or Pentium-based PC with 8 MB of RAM for Windows 95 and 16 MB
of RAM for Windows NT 3.51; a 100-MB hard drive; an 8-bit color
(256-color) display adapter and monitor, and a CD-ROM drive to use the
software on the Deluxe CD-ROM. For optimal performance, Adobe recommends
16 MB or more of RAM, a 16-bit or 24-bit color display adapter and
monitor; a 500-MB or larger hard drive for editing full-screen video, and
a video digitizing board to produce movies in Video for Windows.
