ACER AMERICA DEMONSTRATES COMMITMENT TO CHANNEL WITH INTENSIVE "DISTI DAYS"
& "NEW PARTNER" PROGRAMS

PROGRAMS REWARD SALES OF ACER BUSINESS SOLUTIONS, RECRUIT NEW ACER
AUTHORIZED RESELLERS, AND UPDATE ACER AMERICA ON CHANNEL MARKET REALITIES

SAN JOSE, CA -- APRIL 22, 1996 -- In conjunction with a renewed emphasis on
its commercial products, which account for nearly half of its annual
revenues, Acer America Corporation today announced the details and results
of two extensive, on-going channel promotions that have raised Acer's
visibility and level of commitment to distributors and resellers.

Disti Days, an Acer program that begin in February and will be conducted
twice a year, places Acer district sales managers on the sales floors for
two weeks with individual distribution partners such as Action Data,
Graydon Sherman and Seneca. Acer sales managers learn the intricacies of
the distributor's business, hear firsthand the concerns of a distributor's
salespeople and reseller customers, and provide spiffs on Acer products.
The Acer New Partner Program, which began in March, provides dollars off
Acer products to distributors and resellers in return for the recruitment
of new Acer Authorized Resellers. Both programs have been successful with
Disti Days increasing sales by an average of 15% for national and regional
distributors and the New Partner Program recruiting or reactivating Acer
Authorized Resellers.

One of the top three best selling brands in the channel according to
Computer Reseller News, Acer America offers channel partners the widest
variety of products and programs for doing business; from the sale of Acer
Open components such as CD-ROMs, keyboards and monitors, to its barebones,
branded AcerEntra value line systems for custom- configuring, to its
premium line of AcerAltos servers, AcerPower business and multimedia
computers, and AcerNote portables. Both the Disti Days and New Partner
promotions are aimed at increasing sales of AcerAltos servers and
AcerPower business and multimedia computers.

In the case of Disti Days, distributor's sales representatives selling the
most systems while Acer managers are on the floor receive American Express
gift certificates. In the New Partner Program, qualified new resellers to
Acer or those who have been inactive selling Acer systems for the past 12
months receive significant discounts on AcerPower and AcerAltos systems.
There is a limit on one system per reseller. The program benefits
distributors as well as resellers since it also ties into the
distributors' own reseller recruitment programs and allows distributors to
issue an immediate reduction in price to resellers upon approval by Acer
America.
