Workview Office Ships to Customers

MARLBORO, MA, FEBRUARY 5, 1995 -- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: VIEW)
today announced that Viewlogic's Workview Office product line for Windows
NT and Windows 95 was released to manufacturing for customer shipment on
December 22nd 1995. Before release to manufacturing, an extensive beta
program at over 80 customer locations was completed to refine the product
features and insure high quality. Workview Office is a fully
Windows-compliant EDA tool suite. It includes high performance tools never
before available on the PC. Among these are the SpeedWave VHDL simulator,
the MOTIVE timing analysis and XTK crosstalk analysis tools from
Viewlogic's Quad Design group, and the VCS Verilog simulator from
Viewlogic's Chronologic Simulation team.

The Workview Office tool suite also includes the entire, traditional
Viewlogic suite of PC-based design tools. All the tools in the Workview
Office suite have been re-engineered to conform to the Microsoft Windows
environment and offer tool interoperability via Microsoft object linking
and embedding (OLE 2.0). The use of OLE allows the interoperability of EDA
tools with such office productivity tools as Excel and Word. By allowing
personal productivity tools and design tools to be combined on one
computer, Workview Office lowers the total cost of EDA system ownership.
In addition to it's database compatibility with Viewlogic's Powerviewr
UNIX environment, the Workview Office environment is scaleable so that
designers can easily migrate from a low cost, node-locked Windows 95-based
environment to a high performance, Windows NT network.

Early response from Workview Office users has been overwhelmingly
favorable. At Grimes Aerospace Company in Urbana, Ohio, for example,
Avionics and Control Engineer, Stan Hodge commented that Workview Office
is just the suite of EDA tools that his company has been looking for. "We
especially like SpeedWave for Windows" said Hodge. "Its speed and
performance helps us tackle our most challenging simulation tasks. And we
can use it with our other Windows 95 tools."

ITT Avionics in Clifton, NJ is another early adopter of Workview Office.
Douglas Ott, the manager of CAE and ASIC development, particularly likes
Motive for Windows. "It lets our engineers perform timing analysis tasks
for ASIC design on any personal computer running Windows NT," said Ott.
"We've been using Motive to analyze a Vitesse gate array with 50 thousand
gates and performance is excellent. A 90 MHz Pentium running Windows NT,
for example, runs Motive faster than a Sparc 10, running UNIX."

A multimedia CD-ROM, called Inside Workview Office, describes Workview
Office. This free CD is available immediately by calling 1-800- 873-8439,
filling out a request form on Viewlogic's web page, or sending e-mail to
viewdirect@viewlogic.com. (Other inquiries can also be sent to the same
telephone number and e-mail address.) Workview Office is sold by
Viewlogic's direct sales teams and an extensive network of value-added
resellers (VARs) throughout the world. Pricing starts at $1,995.
