Viewlogic to Re-Sell Esperan's MasterClass CD-ROM-Based VHDL Tutorial

MARLBORO, MA, FEBRUARY 5, 1996 -- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: VIEW)
today announced that it will sell a Workview Office-specific version of
Esperan's MasterClass multimedia VHDL tutorial through its worldwide sales
and distribution channels. MasterClass explains the issues faced by
engineers using synthesis to design FPGAs, PLDs, and ASICs. Through a
unique set of project-based lab exercises, users can learn how to apply
VHDL to their chosen tool set, thus increasing their productivity when
they start using the tool set on a real design project. The Workview
Office-specific version of MasterClass has been developed especially for
users of the Viewlogic SpeedWave VHDL simulator and ViewSynthesisr VHDL
synthesis tools within the Viewlogic Workview Office environment.

Workview Office is a complete suite of high performance EDA tools for the
PC. The OEM relationship between Viewlogic and Esperan provides Workview
Office users with an important tool for learning language-based design
methodology. The interactive CD ROM-based MasterClass is a convenient,
easy-to-use, and cost-effective way for engineers to learn VHDL design at
their own pace, either in their office or at home.

"We are very excited about representing this product," said Rick Lucier, VP
of the Viewlogic PC Group. "Esperan's MasterClass tutorial is a clear
market leader in application-oriented VHDL training. We see this as a
crucial component in making engineers successful as they move to a
language-based design methodology."

MasterClass for Workview Office runs under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and
Windows NT. It is available now from Viewlogic worldwide sales and
distribution channels. Price is $499 per copy in the US. A demonstration
version of MasterClass will be included on future releases of the Workview
Office product CD.
