strategic alliance with KPMG Peat Marwick LLP to provide a complete

Under the terms of the agreement, KPMG's Strategic Sales Force Integration
Practice will provide business process reengineering (BPR), systems

VANTIVE SALES PROVIDES COMPLETE CUSTOMER AND PROSPECT MANAGEMENT

Vantive Sales is a tightly integrated sales force automation and marketing
application within the Vantive Enterprise suite that can increase the
productivity and effectiveness of sales and marketing professionals with
its feature-rich capabilities. The product has the ability to manage the
full pre-sales and post-sales customer lifecycle to help shorten the sales
cycle, reduce the cost of acquiring new customers, and efficiently manage
the transition from turning a prospect into a customer.

On the sales side, for example, Vantive Sales uses an opportunity
management model for building relationships with customers and prospects
as well as offers a marketing encyclopedia that is accessible by anyone in
the enterprise.

Vantive Sales also has a strong marketing component that ties directly into
the sales and support processes. The marketing elements support a
company's sales operation by helping to target the most profitable markets
and qualify the inquiries received from all promotional activities.
Specific functionality includes campaign management, promotional planning,
target marketing, and fulfillment/correspondence management and tracking.

"Sales automation provides a tremendous competitive advantage for
organizations. By teaming with Vantive, we can provide the most
sophisticated sales automation and customer management approach," added
White. "Vantive's ability to integrate its sales force automation software
into the customer enterprise will help today's organizations continually
improve their level of customer service."

Strategy, "This alliance is great for Vantive because of KPMG's leadership
position as a systems integrator as well as strong knowledge of the sales
force automation market."
