WINDOWS'95 VERSION OF POPULAR "REMOTE POWER ON/OFF" HAS ARRIVED!

Turn Your Office PC On or Off Or Reboot A Locked-Up Host From Home and
Eliminate the Risk of Windows'95 File Corruption, Too.

SUNNYVALE, CA (February 19, 1996) The anticipated arrival of the new
Windows'95 version of Remote Power On/Off is here. The company's widely
used telephone-activated power switch for remote PCs will start shipping
the Windows'95 version next week.

Designed to solve everyday remote computing problems for any PC running
Windows'95, Windows 3.1 or DOS, Remote Power On/Off for Windows'95 adds
Windows'95 ShutDown support to the Power On/Off and ReBOOT capabilities
previously offered to remote users. This new shutdown feature eliminates
the danger of file corruption that exists if users fail to shut down the
Windows'95 operating system before a PC is powered-off or rebooted.

The Remote Power On/Off + AUX with Windows'95 Shutdown support provides two
trouble-free solutions to everyday remote computing problems for any PC
running Windows'95.

Solution #1

Designed for the Road Warrior, the product's Power-ON, ShutDown, Power-OFF
sequence makes it possible for remote users to shut down or power the
office PC ON or OFF with a phone call. The device detects the incoming
call, turns on the PC and loads the remote computing software. After the
call is hung up, it shuts down the Windows'95 operating system and powers
off the Host PC after a brief delay. This eliminates the need to keep the
host PC operating 24 hours a day.

Solution #2

For systems that always remain powered on, but occasionally Lock-Up, the
product offers a ShutDown/ReBOOT sequence that is performed automatically
if a call is not answered. This eliminates downtime when a modem phone
line or software application locks up. If the host PC is running
Windows'95, a preloaded Windows'95 ShutDown software module notifies the
operating system to close all open applications and safely shut down the
operating system. An automatic ReBOOT sequence then reloads the software
and returns the system to operating status.

In addition to high-activity remote access systems, the ReBOOT sequence
also supports BBS systems, e-mail servers and Notes servers.

A new call time limit feature automatically disconnects a call after a
specified time limit, avoiding the high telephone charges that accumulate
when a lock-up modem stays connected all night long.

The product also features an AUX Port Mode that allows homes or offices
with single phone lines to share a PC's modem with an answering or fax
machine. This eliminates the need for a dedicated modem line.
