PC DOCS ANNOUNCES IMAGE AND WORKFLOW WORKBENCH PROGRAM

Tightly Integrates Leading Image and Workflow Systems with DOCS Open

DOCSummit, Orlando, FL - February 12, 1996 - PC DOCS, Inc., a subsidiary of
PC DOCS Group International Inc, and the world's leading enterprise
document management company, today announced a comprehensive program which
will ensure that industry-leading image and workflow products are tightly
integrated with DOCS Open. The program, named the PC DOCS Image and
Workflow Workbench (IWW), covers both technology and marketing initiatives
with the Company's partners and will provide customers with the freedom to
choose the image and workflow solutions that meet their specific needs.
The program was unveiled to over 800 attendees at DOCSummit '96, PC DOCS's
annual user, integrator and developer conference being held in Orlando,
Florida February 12 to 14, 1996.

PARTNERS ARE KEY TO FREEDOM OF CHOICE

Our customers are demanding that they have freedom of choice in choosing
one or more image and workflow software products, while running DOCS Open
across the enterprise, said Larry Bohn, Executive Vice President and
General Manager of PC DOCS, Inc. The IWW will ensure that our customers
can always choose best of breed products and that they are the most
tightly integrated in the industry.

Over a dozen companies have already committed to supporting the IWW
including Wang Laboratories, Microsoft Corporation, Optika Imaging, Action
Technologies, Kofax Imaging Systems, Symantec Corp.'s Delrina Group,
JetForm, Reach Software Corporation and Simplify Development Corporation.

PC DOCS and Wang are long time partners in implementing and advocating
standards-based integration of imaging, workflow and document management
in the solutions we provide for our customers, said David Goulden, Senior
Vice President, Wang Laboratories. The IWW program further strengthens
this relationship and ensures that our customers will have the most
advanced products in DOCS Open, OPEN/image and OPEN/workflow, while
retaining the freedom to tailor solutions for their specific needs.

Both PC DOCS and partners like Microsoft will benefit greatly from the IWW
program and our NT SQL Server is the ideal platform on which this strategy
can be implemented, said Richard Noffsinger, Document Management Imaging
Workflow, Industry Sales and Marketing for Microsoft Corporation.
Documents are proliferating at break-neck speed and users need to have
fast, seamless access to them. The IWW program's assurance of complete
integration is definitely the direction customers want us to take.

"Customers are already reaping the benefits of a tightly integrated PC
DOCS-optika solution," said Mark Ruport, president and CEO of Optika
Imaging. "Our combined commitment to standards and our concerted efforts
to integrate even beyond the standards through the IWW program give our
customers an optimized solution for document and image management."

"PC DOCS' IWW strategy is in complete sync with our component imaging
approach," said Kevin Drum, Vice President of marketing at Kofax Image
Products. "We have already won several accounts with PC DOCS because DOCS
Open and Ascent Capture from Kofax are so tightly integrated and are among
the best component applications in their categories. This program will
mean even closer development and marketing relationships which can only
translate into even better solutions for our customers."

Teddy Rosenberg, General Manager, Electronic Forms Business Unit of
Symantec Corp.'s Delrina Group said, "As a leading vendor of electronic
forms automation software our customer base consists mainly of large
corporations and government organizations who have to manage and control a
great number of documents, including forms. Our partnership with PC DOCS,
Inc. and the integration of Delrina FormFlow and DOCS Open recognizes the
importance of organizations having a universal document management system.
We look forward to working even more closely with PC DOCS within the IWW
Program on future development and marketing opportunities."

"Our relationship with PC DOCS has opened up exciting new opportunities for
us and our customers," said Brownell Chalstrom, Vice President of
marketing for JetForm Corporation, the leader in forms routing workflow.
"JetForm's forms products are integrated with PC DOCS document repository
using the industry-standard ODMA interface. The standards-based marriage
of these two technologies enables reliable form archive and retrieval,
allowing retrieval of form field data to become part of electronic forms
processing."

Dr. Anand Jagannathan, Chairman of Reach Software Corporation said, "There
is a natural fit between enterprise workflow solutions like WorkMAN and
document management. Reach has been working with PC DOCS and their
customers to provide integrated enterprise workflow solutions for the past
several years. The PC DOCS IWW program streamlines the process for this
integration to advance to the next level. Now integrating with the DOCS
Open object-oriented toolkit makes the resulting product even better."

"Designed from the start as a document application for scanned paper and
computer fax documents, Mailroom's open design makes it the ideal
companion product for adding these documents into DOCS Open," said Edward
Schmid, President Simplify Development Corporation. "Mailroom is only one
of the many best of breed products that will be attracted by PC DOCS IWW
program."

"We are working with PC DOCS on several levels to achieve seamless
integration between our products," said John Hoye, Action Technology's
Director of business development. "We have a number of customers, such as
the U.S. Air Force, OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corp.) and the
Canadian Coast Guard who realize the need for integrated document
management and workflow, and our combined solution is satisfying their
needs. PC DOCS is an outstanding business partner, and we support their
open imaging and workflow strategy."

STANDARDS ARE THE BASIS

The Image and Workflow Workbench extends the DOCS Open architecture to
support integration of multiple imaging and workflow vendors. This will
take the form of an open API for image and workflow, integrating OLE 2.0
Automation. OLE 2.0 will extend the object model to support image and
workflow object methods and attributes.

The IWW technology program will support industry standards, including the
Workflow Management Coalition's extensions to ODMA. The IWW will also
support Microsoft's standard for managing workflow events across different
systems, the MAPI Workflow Framework. As well, PC DOCS is committed to
using the emerging TIFF standard from Microsoft and Wang to ensure
customers have enterprise access to their images.

PC DOCS's IWW initiative will support all the key standards for image and
workflow to ensure customer are able to achieve consistent enterprise-
wide deployment. Because business managers require solutions tailored to
their departmental needs, the IWW additionally offers vendor-specific
extensions for highly customized integration to our partners' products.

THE NEED FOR IWW

"There are two schools of thought on how organizations should embrace their
enterprise documents, said Ann Palermo, Vice President of Worldwide
Marketing for PC DOCS, Inc. There's the total-solution approach where all
components come from the same vendor. Others, like PC DOCS, recognize that
there are often several different business processes including
administrative, ad hoc and production within a single organization, each
with unique requirements. To effectively support the enterprise, the
requirements of all processes must be addressed, and different types of
image and workflow software will be required. This is why a document
management system must integrate with all types of image and workflow
products and why our IWW program will make DOCS Open the cornerstone of
document-centric business solutions."

Of all organizations that have image systems in place, 70% of those
companies must contend with a multi-vendors imaging arrangement. PC DOCS's
IWW initiative will begin to bridge those disparate departmental systems.

MARKETING PROGRAMS TO COMPLEMENT THE TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE

The IWW also encompasses co-marketing programs with PC DOCS's partners. The
programs include: co-selling, including joint bid development; channel
development, leveraging off PC DOCS's 600-strong integrator channel; and
vertical marketing initiatives in targeted industries. For example, Wang
Laboratories already has a remarketing agreement with PC DOCS which allows
Wang to resell DOCS Open around the world.
