NETSCAPE AND AURUM EXTEND ENTERPRISE-LEVEL SALES AND MARKETING APPLICATIONS
TO THE INTERNET

NETSCAPE STANDARDIZES ON AURUM FOR INTERNAL INTERNET-ENABLED SALES AND
MARKETING SOLUTIONS

SAN JOSE, Calif. (February 20, 1996) -- At the DCI Field and Sales Force
Automation and Internet Expo today Aurum Software and Netscape
Communications Corporation announced an agreement that will extend sales
and marketing applications to the Internet. The integration of Aurum's
market-leading sales force automation software, SalesTrak and WebTrak,
with Netscape Navigator client software will enable companies to
seamlessly merge Web-generated sales leads into their internal sales and
marketing processes. This solution will directly help companies increase
sales force productivity, shorten the sales cycle and better service the
growing population of Internet users, including their existing customer
base. Netscape will also use Aurum's SalesTrak and WebTrak software
internally to manage the thousands of customer leads that are generated
from its Internet site each day.

This relationship addresses the need of companies today to fully integrate
their enterprise infrastructure with the sales and marketing potential of
the Internet. The average Fortune 1000 company has invested $80,000 -
$100,000 in the Web as a dynamic business tool. Using Netscape technology,
Aurum will deliver key enterprise business applications, such as lead
generation, sales management, and database marketing, over the Internet.

"This agreement with Aurum is another way that Netscape is helping
corporate customers leverage proven Internet technologies for business
advantage," said Mike Homer, vice president of marketing at Netscape.
"Working together, Netscape and Aurum will integrate Netscape Navigator's
easy-to-use Internet access software with Aurum's sales process and lead
management capabilities. The combination will provide corporate customers
with a seamless way to integrate the customer leads generated by their
Internet marketing efforts into their corporate sales process.
Additionally, Netscape will be using Aurum's SalesTrak and WebTrak
internally to implement an Internet-enabled sales lead tracking process
that will help Netscape manage its tremendous growth."

The four leading applications for the Internet today are email, marketing,
sales, and support, according to industry consultants Culpepper and
Associates, Inc.

"We will be offering a powerful combination of Aurum's enterprise-level
sales and marketing applications with Netscape's leading open Internet
software, providing the most effective way to attract, manage and maintain
new and existing customers," said Mary Coleman, president and CEO of Aurum
Software. "This combination allows companies to exploit a cost-effective
medium to immediately leverage the enormous customer potential of the
Internet."

By integrating Netscape Navigator with automated sales and marketing
applications, Aurum and Netscape will provide a vehicle for Web visitors
to seamlessly participate in a company's sales and marketing process.
Additionally, Aurum and Netscape expect to work together to develop a host
of Web-based capabilities that exist for database marketing, telesales.
These capabilities include managing direct mail Web campaigns, Web
marketing encyclopedias, Web-based lead generation and customer data
mining processes, compiling user-specific information, conducting
transactions, and a host of customer support functions such as information
bulletin boards, support call entry and status, and product feedback.

enables companies to automate their sales and marketing processes, and the
advent of WebTrak allows these processes to be leveraged over the
Internet. Netscape has licensed Aurum's customer asset management software
to manage its tremendous volume of Internet-generated sales leads. Aurum's
WebTrak and SalesTrak software will integrate the millions of hits
Netscape receives on its Internet site each day into its sales and
marketing process. Aurum's enterprise sales and marketing solutions have
the scalability, flexibility and performance to handle the growing needs
of large Fortune 1000 companies.

Aurum WebTrak

WebTrak is designed for companies using Web home pages as a competitive
tool to drive demand for their products and services, as well as to
generate sales leads. Using WebTrak, the company's home page is supplied

information automatically enters a customer database, the underlying
technology upon which Aurum's products SalesTrak, TeleTrak, SupportTrak,
and QualityTrak are built. The new information simultaneously updates all
of the relevant application areas, and triggers alarms for such follow-up
action items as calling the customer, sending product information,
scheduling a sales call, or any other relevant activities.

Aurum SalesTrak

Aurum SalesTrak automates sophisticated field sales organizations with
comprehensive tools for tracking, measuring, and managing the sales
process. SalesTrak is built on a relational database and designed for
mobile and office-based usage, incorporating an Opportunity Management
