TEN MORE LEADING FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS WILL OFFER ONLINE BANKING WITH
MICROSOFT MONEY; BRINGS TOTAL TO 31

REDMOND, WASH. - JAN. 30, 1996 - As part of its ongoing commitment to bring
the benefits of online banking to households across the nation, Microsoft
Corp. today announced that 10 more banks have arranged to offer online
banking with Microsoft Money for the Windows 95 operating system, the
personal-finance software that has garnered praise from industry writers
and end users alike.

Microsoft Money for Windows 95 focuses on making the most common
home-finance tasks easy and efficient. Money features an elegant,
intuitive user interface and a task-oriented approach. The product also
offers enhanced and integrated online banking and bill-payment services,
making it easier than ever for users to pay bills, balance their
checkbook, transfer funds, and investigate the status of accounts. Users
can now handle most banking tasks from home. In very little time, Money
users can reap the benefits of managing their personal finances more
quickly, conveniently and efficiently than ever before.

Edgar Brown, senior vice president and head of alternative delivery at
First Union, said, "First Union wants to provide service to its customers

efficiency for our customers."

"We have had a very enthusiastic response to online banking from the
institutions we are currently working with," said Richard Bray, product
unit manager of the personal finance products unit at Microsoft. "We are
very pleased to be working with these new financial institutions to offer
the benefits and conveniences of home banking to an even greater number of
people across the country."

In addition to the financial institutions listed above, 19 of the 21
previously announced financial institutions are already offering their
customers online banking services through Microsoft Money. (Asterisks
